Big Brother producer Endemol has hired ITV's group director of legal and regulatory compliance as global head of legal.
Andy Griffiths, who has spent eight years as ITV's compliance chief, will join Endemol at the start of 2009. He will oversee legal advice on all corporate matters including IP licensing and M&A, reporting to chief executive officer Ynon Kreiz.
Griffiths said: "Endemol has bold plans for growth and diversification, which makes this an extremely exciting time to take on a role of this kind."
At ITV Griffiths worked on the launches of digital channels ITV3 and ITV4 as well as the merger between Carlton and Granada. Before joining ITV, Griffiths was vice president at Prisma Sports and Media, having previously trained at Lovells.
Kreiz said: "Andy has built a vast amount of experience, working at the top of his field in the largest commercial broadcaster in the UK, one of the world's toughest and most sophisticated TV markets."
