The top company director at Big Brother producer Endemol enjoyed a 35% pay rise to £2.8 million last year, as the UK arm of the global TV production firm defied the recession.
The company's pre-tax profits increased by 8.4% to £30 million during 2009.
Revenues slipped by 1.2% to £168 million but margins improved.
Accounts filed at Companies House did not name the highest-paid director, who earned a basic salary of £714,000 and more than £2 million from a long-term incentive scheme. It is thought to be Tim Hincks, chief executive of Endemol UK. He signed a new contract in April, which lasts until 2014.
