In a new interview, Dermot O’Leary says: “I think ‘Big Brother’ is the most important piece of telly made in the last 10 years.”

It pains me to say it, but he’s right.

Some moments from the ten series of ‘Big Brother’ (2000-2010): Nasty Nick. Makosi and Anthony in the hot tub. Victor, Emma and racism. Nikki’s tantrums. Kinga and her bottle. Jade Goody.

Dumb, shrill, crass, hollow, depressing? Maybe – but undeniably memorable and clear indicators of how much the TV landscape has changed.
