Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping some of you extremely intelligent people here will be able to offer your opinions, and help me to write an essay!
I've recently been given the essay title:

"Why is it important as geographers to examine popular culture (such as that represented to us through film/fiction/television/advertising?"

"Think about what is the relationship between how the world is represented to us, and the 'physicality' of the world? Why is it represented like this? What are the implications/consequences - i.e. why is it important?"

Naturally, I've chosen to write about Big Brother, or, if I run out of steam, reality TV in general.

Would anyone be willing to briefly share their thoughts on the matter?!
Do you think that stereotypes occured on BB3? Is it coincidence that the older people tend to be voted out first? Etc etc....

Ta very much!

This sounds as though it is a bit above me Nicki!! ${

However, you say "Is it coincidence that the older people tend to be voted out first?"

It depends on what you mean by 'older', because I wouldn't have thought that was particularly true. Dean was the oldest in BB2, but he came 3rd. Craig from BB1 was one of the older ones I think and he won. Similarly, Jonny from BB3 was fairly old and came 2nd and Les from the recent Celeb BB came 2nd. Sandy from BB3 escaped, so we'll never know where he would have come!

The statement is however true for Penny and Lynne who were both voted out first and Stuart was voted out fairly early on.

Sorry, I couldn't remember how old he was, but what I meant was that he was one of the older ones, but I didn't mean that he was old as such.
