Writing in yesterday's Daily Mirror Alex Sibley, star of BB3, says ...

''I KNOW they're all 18 and old enough to do what they want, but I think it's really wrong to let two contestants have sex in the Big Brother house.

When we went in there we were given psychological tests but no HIV tests and these are two strangers having unprotected sex. What kind of message is that sending out to young people watching this?

I know that lots of youngsters enjoy the show. I saw a group of nine-year-olds today who knew exactly who I was. I've never really understood why they look up to us, but lots of them do.

I was having sex at 15 but it's wrong to show it on TV. They say that HIV is rising among heterosexuals and yet they're showing two teenagers having unprotected sex.

These guys know how big BB is and it may be that they think they can make a name for themselves by having sex on it. But it's scary. There was a lot of swearing, too, but maybe that's just normal teenage behaviour. There also seemed to be a lot more confrontations and I think that's because they know they're not relying on the public vote.

They come across as kids even though they would be the first to tell you they were adults.....''

I have to agree with Alex on this, and not just because it's Alex either

I watched last night with a very uneasy feeling, I think these kids have been used to draw back the veiwers that were lost due to the fiasco that was BB4.

I know unprotected teen sex is happening everyday, but where is the education here? neither of them seemed to be worried about pregnacy or STD's, just whether they still fancied each other or not the next day!

We know certain acts were covered up or glossed over during past adult BB's , so why the need to show the act in full with the kids?

Legally, yes they are adults, but morally they are still children and as such need protection, in more ways than one!

A couple of comments

1) BB didnt make them do it - they did it cos they wanted too
2) If BB had supplied contraceptives they wouldve been accused of actively endorsing teenage sex on "live" tv, if they didnt they're accused of being irresponsible!
3) They showed it – big deal … if these kids didn’t want to be shown having sex on national tv they shouldve waited until they were in private!!!
4) HOW THE HELL COULD THEY HAVE STOPPED THEM?? SENT SOMEONE IN AND DRAGGED THEM APART????

IMO Endermol and C4 are in a no win situation with teen BB whatever they’d done however they’d handled situations someone is always gonna disagree!!!

No, no human contact silly!!!! I think they should have set off the fire alarm or said, 'this is Big Brother, could Tommy please come (ha ha, geddit, i'm so immature!!!!!) to the diary room' and given him a condom, which wouldnt have been used because the call would have woken everybody up!!!!

Whether you like it or not, C4 and Endermol, were responsible for they're welfare, whilst in the house.
If you were in charge of the series, would you ,honestly,
not have thought of, or dismissed the idea of providing a group of hormone-filled, teenagers with condoms?
....if you put a load of 18 year old's in a house, it's not going to be long, before the hormones take control and sex occurs.
...that's why the series was comissioned.
...guaranteed sex.
...something that viewers have been crying out for in previous BB's.

I've said this before....
The most amazing thing is that they did it without any alcohol to blame, and there wasn't even a £50k prize offered by the tabloids!

Is the other £50k prize still running though seeming it was never won????

I dunno....was it a 'rollover'?
