Being really forward here! I'm actually shy face to face but I'm being brave and suggesting that we start a thread on Father Ted. I LOVE that program! What are your favourite bits? I loved the one where he was accused of racism and then did the waving his arms about and from the outside it looked like Hitler doing a speech! It was well funny, er, well I thought so. Please don't leave me hanging here! Somebody reply...? :-(

Is it cos I is Irish and my uncle is a bishop, my aunt a nun and I'm a Buddhist...

I love Father Ted always makes me giggle, so many bits that spring to mind lol when he had to kick the bishop up the "ar*e".

More tea father...go on go on go on

I loved a Christmas special when the priests were in the lingerie department and they were trying to get out without being seen .

The Caravan episode

Ted playing the shaft record to a depressed priest

The fun fair episode (the roundabout was a piece of wood with a stick in the middle)

when father Ted and Dougal had to give up stuff for lent (dougal skatboarding, Ted smoking)

::lol::

The Speed parody where the milk-float couldn't go below 5 Mph springs to mind....... ::lol::

I just love the time Mrs Doyle said to Ted when he was in bad form

"What would you say to a nice cup of tea Ted?"

And Ted responded

"I'd say feck off nice cup of tea"

My 2 fave episodes were the Eurovsion 'My lovely Horse' one (& if you're Irish like my good self ;) you'll know that there was a horrible ring of truth about Ireland not wanting to host the contest AGAIN!)

and, even though he's become a bit of a **** recently, the episode when they're all holiday and Grahame Norton guests as a manic priest - classic

Yeah has to be one of the all time classics ... up there with fawlty towers. I often wonder do people from outside ireland get all of the jokes ... i mean for instance the "feck" word .... do people outside use this word? I must explain that this word IS used in ireland , well b4 FT , and was NOT made up for the series. Its very strange cos u can say FECK in front of your granny but you cant say **** ... strange but true! ::lol::

Agree with Alex about 'My lovely horse' - especially the dream video of the song. Made me fall over.

*or was that the lager..hmm*
