I am so not in a world of my own!!!! ::lol::

Alright matey, its enrolment week, so all hands on deck to 'meet and greet' students! what fun!!!

Spilling the beans
My theory is that beans make you fart, they make you pass wind, so, spilling the beans is making you fart through your mouth, a fart has to come out whether you want it to or not, so does the truth (in the end) ::lol::

Well I've learned something new....thanks piggy.

Now does anyone know who the hell Reily is? as in 'living the life of Reily'? :-? (I've probably spelt it wrong)

Reily is that little man on the kellogs cornflake advert, you never usually see him wandering in the background, cos he's living the life of reilly and nobody notices him.

In fact HD, I think he was a very rich spontaneous person and everybody hated him cos of his money...............................*trys to make it look like she's not talking Dollocks!!*

To lead a life of Reilly -

'To live luxuriously. From a comic song. "Is that Mr Reilly", by Pat Rooney, popular in the USA in the 1880s. The song described what the hero would do if he "struck it rich".

:) (Back from holiday) :-(

can anyone remember where we discussed it - I think it was the sin bin in which case it's probably long gone!

None of the Sin Bin posts were deleted. I think they were probably moved to the General Chat section.

spill the beans comes from the greeks.
in days gone by people used to vote in referendums by placing either a white bean (for yes) or red bean (for no ) into a jar ... the vote was a closed one and had to be unamimous to pass.
on one such occasion , the bean counter ( maybe thats where the slang for accountants comes from ) let the jar fall ,the beans fell out .The crowd saw the red bean and thus the result was known b4 its time .... ie he "spilled the beans"

Erm George, do you, like, know everything?

::lol::

Do you know why they don't make caramac easter eggs? :-?
I've never seen one. Some people reckon they have but I don't believe them. I've been looking for years.

They made a caramac easter egg about 20 years ago

I know they did cos my brother got one and I wanted it but had to make do with an animal bar one! I remember it really clearly cos that easter I went swimming with a girl that lived over the road, my nan was looking after us cos my parents had gone away (and left us at easter WAAAH)
