Does anybody know of any good party games (suitable for a family party)? At Christmas I'm having a party for 21 people (including children) and I'm trying to think of some ways to keep them amused. Any suggestions?

Also, I shall be doing "pass the parcel" and need some ideas for forfeits (again suitable for everyone). If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thank you.

Last party my mum had we played Pop Idol....you had to stand on this log in the garden and sing and 3 people had to be the panel.
The funniest thing wasn't the singing, it was the kids trying to make comments in a Simon and Peter type way ::lol::

Scrabble is always good cos you can go in teams and stuff

Pass the parcel is the best!! I'll try and think of some forfiets, my mate had pass the parcel with forfiets at her party so I'll ask her what she did

and you need to have stuff like musical chairs, statues etc....

well when im doing the kids parties at the dance school we do the following

we have some Islands ( they can be just cardboard shapes big enough for a few kids to stand on) get them to dance and when the music stops they must head for an island its like musical chairs but cardboard easier to recover

treasure hunts with about for or 5 clues go down well stops them getting bored if not too many clues we use ones like

pair of nickers (2 pound coins)
pair of glasses
signature of the oldest person in room

they like that one

and the other one they like is corners number the 4 corners make em dance (dj has back to room) stops music tells them to pick a corner
shout a number and those in the number are out

hope they are of some use

My mate has ALL her xmas shopping done!! She does have 43 people to buy for though and she's pregnant and due next month - so she had to get it out of the way fast!! She also has a 18 month old daughter ... not envying her one little bit right now poor cow!!!! LMAO!

=======
Party games ... ummm my mums cousin is usually the one to bring games and stuff last year she had a band name quiz where there were clues to the name of 50 bands on a sheet and we had to team up and guess them me and paul won that but I cant for the life of me think of any right now ... then we had the same thing with place names in the bristol/weston area so Warm Water Holes - would be HOTWELLS ... the hysterical thing was that my brother-in-law is a brummie and his partner in it was American and they won cos they were cheating!!!

We also did a dingbats like game and some other quizzes similar to above with sweet names - we didnt have any kids there so I guess those sort of games are no good for kids!

Other games we play include getting a guiness book of music and reading out at random the name of a song and everyone has to guess the artisit and year - playing a second of a song ala "name that tune" and everyone has to guess the song and artist!

We always play the association game like we do on here where someone starts off with a word and the next person has to follow with a related word if you repeat a word, cant think of one or say one totally unrelated then youre out.

Put items on a tray cover with a cloth show it for about 20 seconds then everyone has to list whats on it

charades - split into teams put the names of songs, books, films etc into a bowl everyone takes turns picking one out to perform to teams

God I could go on and on....

"uni-ped hop-a-go-go challenge" is always worth a laugh
heres how its played
basically everyone dances to the music , when the music stops the people stop ... however moves is out.... like musical statues ..... BUT!!!!! ... and heres the brilliant part .... they are only allowed to do the one legged dance , perfected by BB-japsters Kate + Jonny ...

anything where people are split into teams to answer questions, and they have to create buzzing noises to answer... especialy funny for the adults who have had a few by then, and think the funniest thing in the world is to try and replicate a doorbell sound with nothing other than a half full glass and a whistle.
