I did not lose my temper when one of the pupils in my class roughed up my baby

But I did delight in making this child squirm by giving him either the evils evertime I looked his way or just giving the most evil cheesy grin :D Like so.Think he was quite relieved to be told he was being sent home

I'd go for jiu jitsu Mari, Krav Maga is a good art but unless you are actually dealing with guns and similar weapons on a daily basis I can't see the point other than for the enjoyment of the training itself.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never heard of Taiji but from the name I'd say it's Chinese and probably Taoist? Jiu Jitsu is an EXCELLENT and VERY effective art. Other than wrestling (proper wrestling, not tv sh*te) I'd say it's one of the best

Thanks Molly - Krav Maga has been quite popular last few years over here because I live in an area where are military forces and of course some police officers likes to train it as well. They teach civilians other techniques than professional military or police persons. We are living in a world where criminals have illegal guns and weapons, so I believe that it's somehow quite effective these days. They also search trainers backgrounds and you can't train it if you're in a trouble with law, crimes or addicted to something chemicals. I know few guys that are training it and they have of course advertised it in a positive way to me as well.

I have trained Finnish Jiu-Jitsu style that's called Hokytoryo. It's very practical and effective art. I agree that with you. Same sport-association is over here is offering also Kick-Boxing, that I'm not interested in.

And I'm not at all interested in Karate, eventhought I like to watch their Kata-performances - that are absolutely awesome! There're also Brazilian-style Jiu-Jitsu trainings in my area.

There's something that makes me not to feel comfortable with Aikido - I like basics of it and it's round movements - but their attitude (they seem to think that they are top intellectuals of the world) towards others makes me feel annoyed. Many colleagues of mine in Finland knows the basics of the 24-style (yang-style) Taiji. I have learnt 42-style taiji movements and I love it's slow movements that are in their own way pretty effective if they are made fast - and you're making movements with a partner. Taiji is also like meditating with movements and it's good to any age-groups with their balance and of course physically. But in my area there're only possible to train that 24-style of Taiji. :-?

That's why I haven't yet made a decision which one I'd choose. Because I've missed dojo last , almost, ten years and now I feel that's time to start to train again, because it has had really strong part of my life before I became a mother. And as an indicator - I've seen my ex-date at work recently so often that it has made me think going back to train - he is still training and teaching his art.

But what I didn't do today: I wasn't at work today! ::lol::

Proper wrestling is brilliant as a participator sport. Its a lot more physical than people think too.I used to do it til I moved out here and theres no-one to practise with now but I loved it

::lol:: My son is training wrestling, he has done it since he has been four. My daughter (she's four) wants to join their trainings, so she'll probably join them on January. Wrestling is goos basic exercising for children. It's really many-sided sport - most martial arts are not allowed under 15 years old (full techniques, there are many limitations for younger trainers). ::lol::

I didn't tell the guy who sits beside me in work that he is the most useless, painful, excuse of a person ever! :8o:

He's a team leader, and today asked me, a mere minion, for some help. It was impossible to help him, because his question was the equivalent of 'Can you help me to read War and Peace?'...when in reality, he didn't even know the alphabet...
