Funnily enough, mum got home late on yesterday afternoon but she's not well either. She can hardly speak but I think it's more like a cold type thing so it's not as bad as what VB has but not being able to speak is absolutely torture!

I do understand how she feels, as I have a longstanding problem with laryngitis (a common complaint among teachers), and I've had to have wee cameras stuck down my nose and throat to view my larynx. *shudders*.

Unfortunately I've been having bad bouts of voice loss since January, and this coughing is the worst thing possible for it!!

Yuck about the camera thing. I don't think I could cope with that (never even went to the doctors after continual sore throats for 2 years through the fear of him taking a throat swab, such a baby ) - as a teacher losing your voice must be impossible though.

The camera thing wasn't as bad as I feared. And no voice when faced with a room full of kids could definitely be classed as a disadvantage!!
