That is crazy though. Have seen it in all the months between October and April but that's it.

It does get freezing here but the coldest I've ever been was in France. I have never ever felt temperatures like that in my life

Drat!!!Should have just left the ***2...

Seriously....though I was used to blizards and cancelled school(sadly rarely)...not felt cold like I did in central heartlands :-(

Well I can say I have learnt something tonight, with a unknown fact I can impress my mates with. :D

I've walk home (about a mile) in temperatures around -20C (1979 I think ?) and had ice forming on facial hair.
And once did a 5 mile trek into work at around -10C (1986 ?) as bike was iced up and the back road was still blocked with snow.

Actually, one of the coldest for me was staying in a caravan near where my relatives live one October - you may ask why at this time of the year, I don't know the answer. We raided my gran's hoose for duvets and despite having three on my bed it still felt like icicles (how on earth do you spell that?) were growing off my nose by the morning. Cold is not something that I am particularly bothered by but that was one of the occasions where it was horrible.

Blimey 5 inches of snow 30 miles away last night, as usual it rained here.

Spotted this evil looking thing yesterday whilst sitting outside. And today I got a few pictures. They look like something you'd expect to see in a Harry Potter movie.

My book says their 'Common Bee-Fly' size 8 - 12 mm.

Also it looks like it's going to be a bumper year for Ladybirds.
Most of the plants in the flower borders have at least one on them ,many have 2 or 3 per plant.
