Britain will be blasted by an 'extreme weather event' today as Arctic blizzards bring the biggest snowfall for almost 20 years.
The icy conditions mean hundreds of thousands of commuters are braced for travel misery this afternoon, as the worst of the weather is expected to hit just as the evening rush hour begins.

London and the South-East could see up to 15cm of snow in the most widespread fall for 18 years.

The Met Office said it was classing today's conditions as an 'extreme weather event'.

Well I am delighted with the day off work, :)
I just hope the snowfall is as heavy later on today so I wil be as delighted with the day off tomorrow. :D

I wish I had a camera. I could have got some lovely pictures of the birds feeding off our bird table with the snow falling.
