Been playing with a few things with Bluetooth trying to get them to talk to each other.
1st my radio has Bluetooth. I configured it to Mono mode as instructed then found my Sony receiver and paired them. But you don't always get sound though transmit still works pressing the BT button but the microphone in the Sony don't work with the radio.
2nd TomTom Go530. Tried pairing with the Sony receiver but although it found it ,the connection was refused due to compatiblilty as it was expecting a phone.
3rd option Sony Bluetooth transmitter with the satnav and the Sony receiver. Well apart from almost going deaf with the first blast of sound as the receiver was turned up too high ,it works well and should be audable on the helmet speaker. Just need something water proof to store the transmitter in.
It would have been good to have the radio to listen to but the speed warnings and the camera warning etc will be useful.
The only official headsets for the radio are very expensive and can only be used with a cycle helmet as they are too chunky to fit under a Motorbike crash helmet.
I'd like a
Sonic Communications genesis 2 headset like the emergency services use as you wear it rather than having it fitted in the helmet ,though it would still leave the interfacing as apart from a speaker output this version of the radio relies on Bluetooth for microphone connection when you have the GPS fitted. They do another version of the radio with internal GPS without Bluetooth that has sockets for external speaker / Microphone / PTT but at £300 - 400 it's not really an option to get the other version.
I'd neaver realized all the different types and connection differences with bluetooth.
