I have spent 20 minutes on the phone to my daughters head of year who confiscated her coat because it was 'non-uniform'..despite the fact they have to go outdoors to move between classes.I pointed out the reason for her having a pale blue coat(with a hood, natch) was because it was the warmest coat she had and was quite certain that i could not be the only parent who had not purchased navy coats in 4 different weights for differing weather conditions..and besides which didnt she have some teen pregnancies or bullying or vandalism to sort out instead!!!

ace, the teaching equivalent of "shouldn't you be out catching real criminals?" Did you say it with a straight face?

How could I when I'd been told the main objection to the coat was that it was a 'hoodie' ::lol:: ::lol:: Its a fleece jacket with a hood!Kind of useful when you set off for school at 7.45 in sub zero temperatures

Today I just spent 40 minutes on the phone (mobile to mobile, contract phone) to Turkey! Istanbul! Blimey that's gonna cost me! It was to my exes sister I think I love her more than I ever loved her brother... Sadly I won't see her again bcz it'd just be too awkward but I don't want to lose touch with her. We were very close. She put her brother (my ex) on the line briefly and we exchanged pleasantries but I wonder how much that will cost? The phone call I mean. Trouble is she doesn't speak any English and my Turkish isn't good enough that I can speak at normal speed, there were lots of pauses while I tried to think of which word I need.

How much will that cost do you think? A 40 minute call to Turkey? Serious question, I really don't know. :-?

Don't have a clue I'm afraid Molly, hope it's not too bad though.

This evening (this is turning into a 50 things you did today thing, however it ties in with the earlier one) I was at a rehearsal with a group where I am the baby by a few years - they kept calling my sweetheart  I'm not sweet! Sweet, delightul and more in one day :-?

I've done it again, I've forgotton a birthday! This time it's my brothers and I've only just remembered now that he's 34 today so have sent him a text to wish him Happy Birthday and that the pressies will be in the post shortly.

Also got quite worried earlier when someone came to the door from the mortgage company my dad is with and I overheard him saying he was in arrears. It's not the first thing thats led me to believe he's not telling me something. Think I'll have to have a word.
