Boopy is right Milly. you need to watch the mint. I put in a very small plant of mint and within a couple of years it had taken over about 30ft of the garden and we had to have the whole thing taken away. A pot is the best option for it.

It's right pushy that mint! My dad always taught me to put it in a pot for that reason. My neighbour has a garden full of the stuff :-?

Wait until you start on Corgettes, mine took over the whole village ::lol::

I was giving them away for months

Ok Boopy, sunflower update #1

Still in the packet ;)

Oh and last year I had the most enormous one with fantastic genes ;) when it died I cut the head off and left it in the sun to dry out so I could grow an even more enormous one this year with the seeds, when in her wisdom my Grandmothers carer threw it in the dustbin and it was never to be seen again   ::lol:: ::lol::

Oh courgettes!! I remember when I was still living at home and my parents neighbours used to drop off any produce they had grown that they didn't want - it was quite nice and we used to get all sorts.. but one summer it was courgette after courgette - my Mum made practically every recipe she could find with them.. and it got to the point were my Dad was just chucking them straight in the compost because we were so bored of them  ::lol:: Can't say I have ever been very taken with a courgette since

Has anyone tried Tomato plants in hanging baskets ?

We have then long one fence in a think 3 baskets. They only produce small Tomatoes but they leave room in the 2nd greenhouse for the large plants for the bigger Tomatoes.

We only grew one Sunflower last year. We left the head on long after it died and the birds had a good feed off the seeds.

Our Buddleia collection is coming along well and even the one that grew from seed is about the same height as the bought ones. As I've mentioned before we have a wide range of colours with reds ,whites ,blues ,mauve ,and a yellow. Should be quite a sight when they all flower.

Westy that flower looks much bigger than ours was. Think ours was just above 6 feet.
Two pictures from the archive.
