Today ,the first day of my holiday ,I went out on the bike and decided to try a different route which turned out to be longer than I'd thought. Covered 18.5 Miles ,but apart from one hill that I've never managed yet to cycle up it wasn't too bad.
The other bit where caution is required is going down the hill towards the A509 roundabout as your in a gear-set ,ready in case you have to stop and for continuing after the roundabout (right turn),which prevents you from pedaling but your still doing around 30 MPH and you have to check behind before indicating and moving to the right-hand lane , it's a fast road.
Saw 2 Grey Squirrels and a dead Snake ! Plus something Grey about the size of a small Cat that had been killed ,might even have been a Cat but couldn't see.
As I'm going up and down stairs all day normally I decided cycle would be a good way of making up for the lost of general exercise though I think I'll try a shorter route tomorrow. At least most of the roads are quiet once rush hour is over.
It's currently sunny but rain is forecast with possible Thunder storms. It was spotting as I came through Wellingborough and the last 6 miles but so far that's all it's done. The
Live Storm monitoring data is showing an increasing amount of lightening building so maybe we'll get the promised storms
