hello - thought everyone might like to know where we are up to with this magazine idea thingy.

MrsMinxington and I have been consulting with Christine about the best way to set this up, there is definite backing for it which is great and so here are a couple of ideas.

Please can you let us know what you think? ta

1) THE NAME: We have to be careful about copyright and libel, therefore to have a name which is so similar to Heat is funny, but probably best not to get too close. So although we liked it, Bleat can't happen. Can you think of a better name?

2) THE FORMAT: There are two ways we could set up this magazine really. If all the articles are published together on a certain date each month, there could be a deadline so everyone who is contributing can send their articles to me or MrsM, then we just look them over and publish them on a thread in General Chat, all together. Then, lock the thread and set up another thread called Comments on the Magazine, or whatever, and chat about it on there. So all the articles are published together each month.

Or......set up a Magazine Section (similar to Big Brother 6 or Big Brother 5 etc) and have threads within it called Fashion, Gossip, Travel, Motors etc and then people can post as and when they want and get responses etc.

Over to you, people....

How about a combo of 2a and 2b? A separate section on the BBF site for mag discussion but keep the magazines separate for viewing, otherwise they'll get lost in the thread.

I LOVE Bleat! It's two letters different from Heat and it relates to blethering which is surely what it's all about?

I think you are right, but being aware of a company called San Tropez who sued a company called Tan Tropez means that alertness at the moment is directed at people who are taking "the mickey".

They only opened a tanning shop before being accused of being ripped off. I dont want Christine or her site to come to any harm because we wanted to do something. So we need to be squeaky clean and free from potential libel action.

PS, Im quite drunk having been to a wedding before replying to this. If it makes no sense, I do apologise, the intention to make it make sense was there :D

You are very coherant and understandable. :D I don't think that "Bleat" is too cheeky in the way that "Cheat", for example, would be. I do think they're entirely different words and the idea of "Bleat" is similar to calling a mag "Goss" or "Chat". However, I do understand your sentiments about being cautious.

:D

We have, however, been a bit obvious in the planning. See thread "Anything Heat Can Do...".

I personally love the name BLEAT. However, I can understand concerns that we might leave ourselves open to legal trouble. Having inadvertently been party to several threatened legal actions from celebs in the past, its definitely NOT something I want to bring here.

If we do it, we do it with Christines approval and blessing and we DONT get her or her site into any trouble. It cant be any other way.
