I've had a new phone number for the last month or so.
Already, the calls are becoming more frequent - junk calls that is.
first we get 5-10 seconds of silence... then...
'hello.................(long pause)..........are you the owner of this telephone line?'

Now, my response varies depending on my somewhat variable mood, from issuing imminent threat of death (Jack Bauer style) by hacksaw to 'please don't call again'.

At least you won't get called by the major companies that cold call - including the random number calling machiens which call 10 phones and assume only 1 might answer.
