The other day whilst using my pc a box popped up from my firewall saying msn was trying to act as my server and i could allow or deny this, i accidently clicked allow and since my connection has been a little wierd and slow. Does anyone know how i can check what server im using and how to change it back to what it was before ?
Thanks
x

I'm not sure why that would slow down your connection, but what firewall are you using? If you go into the settings there should be a bit for permissions for certain programs, msn will be in that list and you should be able to deny it again. Hope that helps :D

P.s I may be wrong but I think 'act as a server' just means your firewall will allow msn to send information back to the internet, i.e if you wanted to share things over it.

sounds like zonealarm.

Double-clike of the icon in the system tray (Far right on task bar).
On the lefthand menu select 'Program control'
The select the middle option near the top 'Programs'.
Scroll down until you find the program that's acting as MSN and uncheck the server options.
Click apply and close the window.

That should have fixed it.
