As Microsoft are now installing both as updates what are you first thoughts about them ?

I've used Windows Media Player 11 and eventually found the radio station I'd stored previously but it wasn't easy to find again.

I have noticed that the Radio button has gone so I'm going to have to look at the customising options to see if it can be put back.

Also discovered that after having to go to MSN and clicking on the link for the streaming radio stations that MSN doesn't like Firefox !! Looks like I might have to try IE7 after all. I did let it install but I wasn't going to use it unless I really had to as I prefer Firefox.

Any how what are you thoughts after using it ?
Any good or is Firefox still better ?

Any qwerks found in either software ? I don't expect MS to have got them both to work 100% correctly first time as they've never managed it before with anything else. In fact I wonder how long it'll be before we get the first security update for either of them ?

Microsoft are scum, they won't let me download IE7, because my puters to old, MSN rejects me for some reason. Its really annoying, when I do get a new puter, it will not be microsoft, the phrase "bloated plutocrats" come to mind. Everyone sticks with them, because its easier that way, nothing to do with the rubbish service they provide.

I say revolt against the evil that is Gates. Yahoo messenger and firefox the way forward IMHO.

Sorry, not much help to you Larry, just ranting here  :8o:

Yes I saw that you need XP SP2 before you can use IE7 so even those who PC isn't more than a couple of years old but isn't compatible with SP2 are left out.

Firefox is good and I haven't found many sites that don't function correctly with it.
Think the MSN page a mentioned above is the only one that has point blankly said 'NO'.

Find a copy of Koppix which is a complete Linux system that'll run from a CD and give it a try. The web browser is very fast compared to IE.
If you have broadband you can download the latest image file (700MB) but I can't remember the website details.

I have a 98 PC running all day just for Email and the security software providers are getting to the point where they are dropping support of non-XP systems which is a pain.

I've been using Mozilla/Firefox for about 5 years and find it a much better browsing experience. However, IE7 seems to have finally caught on to features that other browsers have had for years, and it doesn't seem too bad. I've also noticed a few M$ websites that won't let you view them properly with Firefox 2.0.

I have to use IE7 occasionally as I seem to have unresolvable problem in irefox involving a conflict with Shockwave Flash, which completely closes down the browser. Larry, any ideas? If anyone should know... ;)

I'm still running an older version (1.5.0.8) but I've seen reference to a problem with flash and a 16bit colour depth but not sure which OS it was talking about.
Think also it's a developer forum I've found .Take a look HERE

Saw a few buggy comments about V2 but haven't tried it so can't comment. This version seems to work fine.

MSN radio sites and a few others connect to internet radio tell you outright it's IE6 or later or no access. They even say they don't support anything other than IE. EG no Netscape derivatives.
