I'm off to Planet-Ice in MK tomorrow night ,but I need to have the blades sharpened on my skates as they arrived unsharpened.

I'm told the rinks can do this but is it a while you wait service ?
And any idea what they charge ?

Hopefully I won't be too battered tomorrow night ,it's been 25 years since I last skated so I'm expecting to be on the ice in more ways than one a few times at least.

Well I should have sent the skates back to where I bought them and got them to sharpen them as it cost me £25 !! Tonight and MK but it had to be done.

And I skated for just over an hour and fell once. And apart from the first minute or two I was not hanging on to the sides.

I'm guessing that I did somewhere approaching 20 laps of the rink. I did have a few very close calls but it was fun and I think were going back next week.

At this stage the only arch is my right shoulder from when I fell. My wrist was sore for a bit afterwards on that was the right-side .I landed up sitting on the ice with legs out in front.

The lady from work that I took spent all night holding on to the edge gingerly making her way around.

Now if I can keep the left skate more up-right and then sit back a fraction more as I caught the ice-picks quite a few times.

But I had a great time.
