My sons first birthday cake has been dropped, face down onto the carpet.
I rang the baker and they said that they can't possibly do another one at this short notice (we need it before Christmas Day) and plus they're shut over Christmas and don't have the staff.
The supermarkets only seem to sell ready-made 3D Thomas the tank Engine or Tigger cakes, and they're nice enough but they're too small and I had my heart set on giving him a big round, traditional cake with white icing that I had decorated myself.
Where on Earth can I get a big, plain round cake before Christmas now?
I've already got all the icing and decorations, I drew out the icing onto greaseproof paper and put it in the fridge this morning and I've got all my jelly-diamonds and silver balls and hundreds and thousands but I've now got no cake to put them on.
I should mention that I'm a terrible cook. I did think about buying several packets of sponge-cake-mix from Tesco and trying to make my own but they were sold out this afternoon and as I said, I'm a really bad cook anyway.
I can't think of anywhere that I could go to get a cake at this short notice!
