Well with all the reported big discounts in the high street I wonder if anybody has spotted any sports shops discounting ?

I haven't had a chance to look locally yet but I'm looking for a set of Seba FR1 inline skates. Best price I've found so far is £174.99 by Proline Skates.

The other thing I'll need is a set of 4 76mm wheels to go with them or somewhere prepared to supply them with 76-80-80-76 wheel set-up.

Out of all the different skates I've looked at they look like fitting the bill and reviews state how comfortable they are. And there are adjustments that can be made to get the correct alignments.

They aren't the cheapest but I keep buying what look like bargins off ebay and not liking the results.

The only other thing I'll have to check is whether the sizes are US or UK. My ice skates are US size 11 which I think is something like UK 10.5 ?

Any ideas ?

Ok forget the above. I've just found the ideal set-up HERE.

I read about the PicSkate blades a while ago but could never find anybody in this country selling them. And the alternative version from OZ (or these) is around £185 just for the blade.

So I've eMailed the company to enquire the cost of them supplying the blade fitted to the same model of boot that I use for ice skating.

This is a far better idea than playing around with wheel sizes to get regular short wheel based in-lines to act like ice skates.

I've got things in motion to get my skates.
I got the quote back to specially order the blades and the boots to my size and have them fitted and posted is £195. I've paid over £200 in total with my ice skates with the upgraded blades.

I've been watching videos on YouTube of the skates in action and the skaters are doing the same things that can be done on ice plus a few extras using just the back wheels.

If you want to watch any of the videos search using "in-line figure" and it returns over 130.

The are 3 evenings where non-ice skating can be done locally at half the cost of ice skating plus it's less than 5 miles return compared to 50-55 miles.

Though where possible I'll always do the weekday mornings on ice as so few people are there. Weekends are always packed.
