Next is a giant Poppy which must be at least 6 inches across when fully open.

And in close-up.

Lots more hopefully to come in the new couple of months as more start to flower.

The detail is really good and you can even see quite clearly the bee holding on.

Lets start with another of those giant Poppys. For an idea of their size you can see my hand next to it.
Image
Next we have some Petunias. I always have to correct the colour on the Purple ones as they become Blue in Paintshop Pro.

Next Mock Orange blossom.
Image
A couple of Clematis.
Image
Image
Can't remember the name of these but there are loads of them and I've still got a tray to put out.
Image
A typical summer favorite and with 50+ plants in full swing we are getting a good supply everyday.
Image
Now for a couple of unknowns.
This one came up in an area where wild flowers seeds had been planted.
Image
And the last one I spotted in one of the borders.
Image

The one giant this year is a cluster of Teasels in the wild flower patch which are now around 8ft high and still growing rapidly. Once the flowers start to bloom they should look good but the pictures don't look interesting yet.

Yes I like that one as well .The combined flower head is about 2 - 3 inches across.

A couple more.
I managed to capture this fly hovering near where I was sitting. Now it can't be more than about 5mm in size but with a fast shutter and manual focus it worked quite well.

Last is our first Red Currents. Plant was new last year and lives in a pot next to the patio.

Quite a range of colours in them. Thought it slightly funny the fact that it appears to be flying cross-legged !

Thanks both.

Yes the first lot are very colourful .We must have 40+ plants and as I said I think everyone is different. There's one near one of the Greenhouses that I think is a different shape when open. I'll have to try aiming a light at it to see if it'll open when I'm here.

Also I think I might have a couple of Stinging Golf-ball plants coming up ,but there's no way I'm going to tough the seedlings to find out. Do a Google on them and you'll see why I said that !

Add to the mix hundreds of Petunias and a lot of Marigolds of different colours and around 15 different types of Poppies. Plus it's time to sell my 2 year old Buddleia plants. I have I think 22 of them and they are all around 3ft+ high so are worth a few quid each. There are 3 colours ,Black knight ,Royal Red ,and Blue Nano. And as they are starting to flower I can label them better. I bought them as a job lot without labels but not many flowered last year so identifying them has been hard work.

Lets hope some of the locals buy them. They are bigger than the ones in the garden center and they charge upwards of £5 each.
