Click the thumbnails for the bigger picture and in most cases you can further enlarge the images by clicking again on them.

Pictures were tonight taken without flash and then Greyscaled to remove the Orange glow from the street lights before being corrected to improve the contrast levels.

All our snow is from Monday afternoon which lead to a very slow and hazardous early return trip this evening.

We even had Police trying to push vehicles up the main slope onto this housing estate.

Wow it looks great larry!

There was snow where I am this morning... not a great deal but it was fairly slippy.

That's exactly what it was like here this morning but then it started snowing around lunch time. But other parts of the country have had a lot more then we've had.

Round two.
Blizzard started around 4am resulting in about 4 - 6 inches snow.

Click the thumbnails for the larger picture which you should be able to click again to enlarge further.
Pictures taken with the camera I normally keep in the car just in case.

The satellite dish had grown by nearly a foot with the extra snow around the edges.

The middle picture is looking down a fairly steep road into Drayton Place. And has a loads of depth. The first and second pictures should by now be on the Radio Northampton website in their snow pictures.

There's also a weather warning in effect for tomorrow for this county with 5 to 10 cm snow in general with up to 20cm snow on higher ground though they say both sets of figures could be higher locally.

Looking a head they have sleet for Sunday followed by more heavy snow Monday.

Spent an hour digging the car out and clearing the drive behind it and the path back to the road. The next problem even if we don't get more snow will be the frozen snow / slush which will be like tram lines by morning and upto 12 inches high made for the cars today.

This morning when I checked just after 8am there were abandoned cars in places which were a hazard .At one point the only cars getting up the estate were 4x4 .Some cars did get off but as most of the roads ,even main ones ,were either closed or difficult I took the easy option and stayed here today.
The one of the bosses son's who runs the place did manage to get in from Northampton but I don't know how but his brother also going in from Northampton gave up and turned back. When I spoke to the main one this morning he was the only one that had made it in.

In that sort of weather it is best not to travel unless you really have to. No point in risking an accident.

Took these pictures on the way back into the UK today. Couldn't tell you exactly where the first two are but the second two were on the approach to the airport - the first was when we had to do a bit of a circuit out into the sea to delay landing because of a problem with the snow so you can see the coast along some of the north sea! Sorry the quality's not great.

Excellent ,pity it's not easier to get the aerial pictures.

Got stuck on the car park at work today and had 4 people to help push me up the slope.
Also saw the trailer of the lorry in front snake on the slush which really wasn't the best thing as if it had jackknifed the road wouldn't been wide enough plush missing it could have been tricky.

And while Snow Chains have appeared in the news the only real option for the UK is Snow / Cold Weather tyres see HERE.

Snow chains can only be used where there is snow so if you get to an area where it's been cleared you have to remove them to avoid tyre and road damage.Plus they are restricted to 50KM/H (30MPH),some reports say 20 MPH, and your not advised to use them for long distances.

As soon as I can find a spare set of steel wheels I'm looking to get some snow tyres.
