with perverting the course of justice? My take? He told her what he had done or she found out and helped him dispose of the bodies. Two potential situations there IMO. 1) She was so insecure and besotted by him that she helped or 2) she was so bl**dy terrified of him (let's face it he killed two little girls!) she didn't see any other way????????

Opinions?

Either are very possible-you cant really imagine what made someone take part in something like that...

IMO, they are both guilty, how dare the police say he is not mentally stable to stand trial, he was mentally stable enough to know what he was doing, and if she helps it makes her just as bad!

I think I heard something about him threatening suicide.
Why the hell didn't he do that 3 weeks ago? :8o:

I'll wait until I have heard the evidence against her, I dont want to jump to conclusions about it.

Yes, I agree scotslass, I think that sounds about right.

I can understand both of those options. If she was absolutely besotted by him then of course she wouldn't want him to go to prison. And if she was terrified of him, then of course she would do everything he asked for fear of him killing her as well. However, if I was in her position and I had been terrified of what he would do to me, then I would have confessed everything to the police once we were taken to separate police stations. I'm not certain though that she helped him get rid of the bodies- wouldn't she be charged with aiding and abetting then?

It's quite frustrating that the police haven't released any more info surrounding the arrest's and so we know very little about the case, and so I can't really comment on it that much as I don't want to judge on something I know little about.

Oh i know what you mean Jonnyboy, but they have held her for a bit too long now for her not to have been part of it, something doesnt quite add up with her IMO

I know, but never forget those people that have been innocent and still been sent to prison for years, I want to see hard evidence, not guess work.

There have been far to many cases (esp such high media profile ones as this) where mistakes have been made because of the need to have a criminal behind bars to appease the public.

The worse thing is, is that if hes been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, then he could plead insanity!

If he pleads insanity though, then he will go to a secure hospital, and so surely that's a good thing?

He might not even be fit enough to stand trial though.

The girlfriend has been remanded and no bail has been set, she has been charged with giving false information.

Very disturbed about the stories of the crowds baying for blood outside, they have no idea what happened, what this woman told the police, what she didnt or why she did it.
Oh hang on that doesnt matter does it, we just need to see someone being accused and bollox to the real story, hell the papers will always tell us the truth wont they :8o:

I dont believe the papers, i believe what i see, which is that he cant of done all this by himself. I think she was involved, i think that the police need to investigate it more, hence charging her for perverting the course of justice. If in 8 days they have not found any evidence, then everyone should leave it. We all know (well, believe) that Huntley abducted and murdered those young girls, he must have had an accomplice, but it may not have been her.

She may have even found him after it had happened and panicked by initially going to the police to make both of them look innocent.......it just doesnt make sense to me.

I just hate all these jump on the media bandwagon people tryiig to pass themselves off as caring members of the public....absolute tosh!
They just want a part of it they are all morbit attention seekers who believe that have the right to pass sentence on their own account without knowing ANYTHING about what they are talking about.

I do agree that she must have some involvment, but NO ONE has the right to pass judgment on her until they have ALL the facts in front of them, for all we know he could have beaten and raped her and bullied her into lying to the police...people should just think sometimes.

But the press are just like that though, i HATE journalists, and you will always get that morbid git who wants to be on the 'telly', they remind me of Norris from Coronation Street.

I even saw an article, BEFORE the police had realeased details of the bodies that were found, that they definately 100% were the girls, when the police hadnt even released a statement. There is a woman i work with and she believes everything she reads in the paper, i get infuriated with her!
