One of the most important summits to happen for a long time and America has done nothing but ridicule and hijack the proceedings.

Global warming is an important issue one only has to look at Germany and remember the floods they have recently suffered. The other issues that were supposed to have been discussed were famine, aids, poverty and many others.

Every leader like them or loath them attended except America’s. Who the hell do they think they are, by this arrogant stance they have more or less said they are more powerful than the united nation, that they will do as they please and condemned the world to uncertainty.

In Alaska one of the last wildernesses in the world George Bush wants to pay his oil barons off for getting him the presidency by allowing them to drill for oil their destroying many habitats in the process that will never recover.

Unlike the rest of the world it is also a known fact that America has not paid anything in to the United Nation since the 1950’s and they owe not millions but billions of dollars. They are also the one country that is dead set against the wavering of the 3rd world debts.

Today we should be reading in the papers that the world has signed an agreement to try and put a stop to global warming. But because of the American administration we don’t have that result, mind you the world should have expected this when we remember the Kyoto Agreement. With this action America could have helped to put the Earth in more danger and everyone had better watch out for more freak weather spasms and those habitats that contain species who aren’t used to warmer weather could become extinct and those who live in hot climates such as Africa may have to put up with more famines and more deaths.

This is a sorry state of affairs and I am sorry to include this topic in BB forums but I think this issue effects everyone today and our future generations.

The Kyoto agreement only slows down the effect of global warming by 6 years in the next 100.

The amount spent on the reaching the targets of the Kyoto agreement could provide clean water and sanitation for every person in the world.

Sod global warming, the solutions given at present are 'feel good' solutions.

A waste of money.

'Feel good' get votes, saving lives x thousands of miles away doesn't.

That's a problem.
