My best friend in the whole world Robert is moving to Jersey. His boyfriend got a job as a hotel manager there.

You'll need to write and phone and stuff heaps. I made the mistake of not doing that to all my old mates when we moved up here so now I don't really know them.

Will you be able to visit him much?

I don't know....maybe out of season when I'm not working if I have the spondoolies. It's not as if I see him every day, but he lives about 20 mins away at the moment. I won't be able to just pop over like I do now.

It's horrible when a friend moves away but on the bright side you can have free holidays!

It's a shame, it happened to me in reverse, I moved away from all my mates, but just think of all the fun you'll have when you meet up again

Yeah Obo.it's the same Rob. He's in Spain at the moment...he phoned and told me when they found out.
I've got his dog here...maybe I should hold her hostage? lol
I'll never have another friend like him. He's the sort of friend you can have a good row with but it's never fatal...we can tell each other we're behaving like idiots and we don't fall out over it..he's so bloody funny aswell and I don't ever have to slag him off behind his back cos I can do it to his face! And vice versa. And he's generous.
I know he'll still be my best mate but it's just not the same...it didn't really hit me until today when he texted me (cos it's his birthday and I bought him the complete set of Hammer House of Horror on DVD) saying he loved it and he'll watch it in Jersey when he's all alone and be scared. I can't even go round his house and watch it with him.

make sure he has puter and msn or yahoo (will save money)
and distance doesnt matter to a friend as close as yours my best friend is in seattle and we have an 8 hour time difference but still feels like she is here and we make time to contact each other via msn and we visit and the free holiday (besides the fare) makes up for it

Yeah he has a PC..we speak on Msn nearly everyday. I'm just gutted cos he won't be down the road. And now I'm working term time, the only time I can get off work is when all the kids are off and plane tickets will be more expensive.
I'm probably making a bigger deal out of it than it is cos I'm tired, worried about going into hospital and I hate my second job...the only reason I'm sticking it out is cos I'm getting paid overtime for it....but boy my hands have calluses on them. And I didn't win the lottery last night.

Four of my best friends moved away, one to Bude, one to Leiscetser, one to Dublin, one to Prague. And now one has gone back to Uni in Wales, it's sad, I know they are only a drive away (apart from 2), but I meet up with them about once every 6 months, its fun and so good to see them!!!! Well, my friend in Prague I e-mail regularly, lots of jokes!!!!!!!
