They weren't my faves, but I quite liked Dean and Penny, so would like to hear more about them and what they are doing now.
I have just copied this from the news section about Penny:-
She is currently in Liverpool rehearsing her role as Fairy Starlight in Jack and the Beanstalk. She has also secured herself a regular Saturday show on London’s Liberty radio.
The breathless enthusiasm for which she became notorious last summer is undimmed as she declares that she has “never been happier” in her life. But everything she has achieved, she says, she has had to fight for.
“Nothing has been handed to me on a plate as a result of Big Brother,” she says. “I’ve never been offered a premiere ticket and I’ve had to audition for all the work I’ve got. I’m having a ball, but the thing about Big Brother is that you risk everything if you haven’t got family or a husband to support you. You basically start again.” Ellis says she may have to sell her flat but has “made some fantastic friends and I don’t regret anything”.
She has not been asked to appear in Endemol’s documentary, which has clearly irked her. “(The programme) should have been all or nothing, all of us or none of us. They picked Helen (Adams) to appear as opposed to me. Well it’s supposed to be an intelligent documentary. Who’s got the degree, me or Helen?” I ask what kind of work she would like to do next. She thinks for a moment then replies: “I would really love to do an advert. For Nescafé or something.”
Dean:-
O’Loughlin refused offers for his band, Phony, to make money through instant cover versions which he believes were not right for the band’s direction and has stayed away from the parties and premieres to which many of his housemates have flocked. “We are serious about this long term and we didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon,” says O’Loughlin, who is also being paid to develop TV programme formats. “We start a tour in January and we are looking for a good recording contract.”
