To his long term girlfriend the lovely Jo I heard that too but just wondered what he was doing now and if he went back to the Fire station after his stint of Boogie Nights. Whatever hope he is enjoying life and keeps in touch with Kate PJ Alison andLynn. cant see any of this lot staying friends at all can you.

Here's a story that was printed a while ago.

The downside of fame,
by Big Brother's Jonny

As a new set of fame-hungry housemates prepare to take part in Big Brother 7, former contestant Jonny Regan tells Deborah Johnson why the show is now a turn-off for him.

WHEN North-East firefighter Jonny Regan entered the Big Brother house in 2002, he never expected to become an overnight sensation.

"I remember them saying before I went in that it would change my life forever, but you don't know what that means. I never imagined what would happen when I walked out of that house," he said.

From being unknown, Jonny, from Trimdon, County Durham, became an instant celebrity, after finishing as runner-up in Big Brother 3.

"I thought I'd leave the house after a week, get a couple of interview requests, and have a few women coming up to me in clubs. But instead, it all went crazy," he said.

In the following months, what seemed like his every move was featured in the media across the country. His wedding to girlfriend Joanne made national headlines.

But after being stunned by the intense publicity, Jonny decided to make a break from his Big Brother past.

Now, he no longer watches the show, shuns most publicity, and has refused requests to join a reunion of former housemates on the new series of Big Brother's Little Brother.

Jonny leads a life in the North-East away from the spotlight, and combines his job as a Siemens computer programmer with auditioning for TV and theatre roles to indulge his love of acting.

"While at first it's fantastic - with all the attention being on Big Brother brings - after all sorts of stuff has been written about you, there comes a turning point when your 15 minutes of fame are up," he said.

"Some of the people who've been on Big Brother are desperate to cling on to theirs, but for me, it was time to move on.

"When I took part, I was a young, daft, single lad - but now I'm a married man with a mortgage.

"I have no regrets about taking part in Big Brother. I'd always have wondered what it was like if I hadn't. But I just hope these new housemates know what they're letting themselves in for.

Hi alix

To mark the fact that 100 housemates have now passed through the Big Brother doors saturday's Mirror did a feature on what the housemates from series 1-6 are up to now - which meant phoning agents & such-like.

Jonny is regional manager for a car electronics firm - but is still considering any opportunities for musicals, panto, etc.
