Kate Lawler: how I stay fit

After winning over the public as the first female Big Brother winner in 2002, Kate Lawler has emerged as a popular TV and radio presenter as well as a much in-demand club DJ. Despite having a packed schedule, which includes her daily drivetime show on Kerrang!, modelling assignments, DJ gigs at top venues and producing her own tracks, Kate still manages to maintain a healthy lifestyle with regular workouts.

On April 26, Kate will be running the Flora London Marathon for a second time to raise money for Cancer Research UK . Joining a team of 1500 Cancer Research UK runners, she hopes to beat her time last year of 4hrs 54mins and contribute to the charity’s fundraising target of £1.5m to help beat cancer......

Maybe there is a problem. Perhaps that is why there are no donations.

Quite possibly, you'd of thought a friend of their's or a family member may have got things started by now

Could be why she's not mentioned the sponsorship on t'radio either.

Yes, but kate probably doesn't want 'friends, family, work colleagues' to make donations on a public site.
No doubt Kate will get donations from people she knows away from the internet but her latest Sunday Mercury blog isn't even up on her myspace yet & Kate has not mentioned she's running the London Marathon on Kerrang! Radio yet either.

As I said, kate is running this for her nan - & other personal reasons.

The good thing is Kate hasn't set a silly target like last year.

I will donate to a cancer related cause separately because I have issues about vivisection/animal expermentation.
I want my money to help people recuperate from cancer/or live a good quality of life in a hospice, etc.

Kate mentioned for the first time on Kerrang! Radio this morning that she is running the London Marathon this year for Cancer Research - & referred listeners to the Kerrang! Radio website for links to donation.
Er, it's not a battle - every donation is welcomed.

Kate also mentioned the Birmingham Half-Marathon later this year which Kerrang! Radio is supporting & fat-oaf(only joking!) OJ Borg is running for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

It's a bit slow so far! but there is a month to go.
Personally, I feel to use that public site for giving is a bit silly, as his setting any kind of target. After all, Kate has never been big for promoting herself as a celebrity. She should be asking her friends & if she wants to publicise how much money she's raised she should do it afterwards.

Kate mentioned it today, but there is still no wider knowledge.
I'll be donating to a hospice.

Kate: I'll beat Jordan in the marathon

Kate Lawler is once again donning her running shoes to take part in the Flora London Marathon this month.

Kate mentioned a dream she had on Kerrang! Radio Breakfast the other week where Jordan ran faster than her. OJ Borg said he was going to watch.
No doubt a set-up for the show & a way for Kate to promote the fact that she's running the marathon.

I just think Kate was chuffed she ran sub-5 hours last year, but found the run very comfortable - & just wants to run a far faster time for herself.
Plus the fact that she said on Kerrang! Radio last year that Amanda Holden was vile towards her at the 'celebrity' London Marathon press conference. I think Amanda ran a bit quicker than Kate last year. Something Kate will want to change.

It's pretty clear that Kate has been taking London Marathon training more serious this year; she's mentioned her training & decreased lack of alcohol! on her Sunday Mercury blog.
I'm sure she'll raise a lot of money after what her nan went through.

I think Kate could get close to 4 hours.

Earlier today we caught with Katie Price, Peter Andre, Ronan Keating, Kate Lawler, Gordon Ramsay and Fenton Gee - who was taking part in the race for a diabetes charity - as they set off on the London marathon. The stars were among 35,000 runners taking part in the gruelling 26.2 mile course around the capital.
Both Katie and Peter were wearing outfits which visibly promoted the two different charities they are running for, and for some reason best known to himself Peter also decided to scrawl “Jade” on his arm. We’re sure Jade’s family will appreciate that. Yes we’re being sarcastic.
