The show with OJ is going pretty good I'd say.My main complaint is that its 50% less Kate and less chatty info about herself and what she's doing.Still the interaction between Kate and OJ is sound and he seems like a nice guy and not too pushy.Lucy is missed coz its now all sausage with only Kate trying to keep it civilized.Heading now into the run to Xmas and then Kate absent in january we think.

Yeah, the show has hit it's stride, and is very enjoyable. It is a very different relationship to her and Shaw or her and Iain Lee (both working at Absolute now I see). It's more a partnership then her being the demure side-sick. Suits her much better, I think.

Yes, we don't hear much of her life outside the office, but I think she doesn't like talking about her personal life much, and talking about her gigs brings out the morons whining about "dance dee-jays shouldn't be on a rock station, blah blah". Interesting that OJ does gigs too.

Yeah, the EuroMilliions Lottery show(or whatever it's called!) is definitely OJ Borg's biggest media gig to date.
He's done quite a bit of regional radio before getting his big break on Kerrang! Radio with Kate Lawler.
OJ Borg presents 'Cage Rage' on Nuts TV; presents some kind of 'British' American Footballl on Channel 5, did a bit of presenting for VH1 before, etc., but he's obviously in new territory tonight.

Kate was back leading Kerrang! Radio's Drivetime show today on her own after a nightmare week!
OJ Borg is in London for the Euromillions Lottery show on the BBC tonight.

Kate got food poisoning on Tuesday(don't ask! - Kate had a complete rant today about a meal she bought from a certain supermarket on Tuesday which gave her stomach trouble) & missed wednesday's & thursday's Drivetime shows.

Anyway, earlier in the week, Kate mentioned that her favourite hairdresser of the moment was going to give OJ Borg a haircut for his big break on the BBC.
Er, he mentioned he had the haircut yesterday, but with Kate's troubles this week, I don't know if Kate's friend actually cut his hair!

Also, Kate said OJ Borg was going to meet her dad at Kerrang!'s Christmas party on Thursday - but Kate's tummy troubles meant she couldn't be there.

Anyway, with Kate having no DJ gig tonight(Huddersfield tomorrow), Kate said at the start of the Drivetime today that she would be staying in & watching OJ Borg presenting the EuroMillions Lottery show on the BBC, in her pyjamas.

Great news! - Kate's pal Johnny Doom(& fellow leftie) has won Brummie of the year!

Interesting that the only item from Kate's tenure as singular leader on Drivetime that survived before her partnership with OJ Borg on the new Drivetime was Johnny Doom's 'Doom With A View.'

Bit ironic with a minuscule number of certain so-called 'rock' fans saying Kate Lawler, a dance DJ, shouldn't be broadcasting on Kerrang! Radio - when Kate's pals away from her own team at Kerrang! Radio are Amy from 'The Night Before' and... a certain Johnny Doom! - Kerrang! Radio's very own thrash/death metal merchant - a person Kate loves for his wry, dry wit!
Nothing to do with romance, of course - Kate & Johnny Doom just hit it off.

He can punch a good guitar-I liked his story of the innocent abroad buying expensive nachos in Camden.Last show before Christmas today.

Some interesting fixtures in there, including Kate on the "Morning after" on xmas day.

Interesting, as Kate said last week on Drivetime that she will be pushing a shopping trolley around a supermarket on Christmas Eve, but didn't say in which city!


Anyway, Kate's not got any gigs scheduled till New Years Eve, in Dubai. Ace.

Kates not back until the q13th now, a mid-winter break perhaps.

She's also running the marathon again, good for her.

Yeah, Kate is on holiday till Tuesday 13th January 2009.
Kate hinted that she would be taking a breaking from Kerrang! Radio early in 2009 in an interview before her gig in Leicester some time ago.
Mind you, Kate would have got a holiday over Christmas week anyway - between Christmas Day & New Year's Day - so it sounds like she has only took the extra week.

Heard Kate on Christmas Day; I thought she was excellent.
There was a nice mixture of Kate's high energy bigging up the fact that it is was Christmas Day for the Kerrang! Radio listeners, with additional hints of melancholy regarding the fact that she was broadcasting from Birmingham & not at home with her parents in Kent. Kate is No sidekick.

Kate mentioned the fact that twin sis' Karen would be listening with Kate's nephew, Louis-Jake; Kate saluted her mom for cooking the Christmas dinner & paid special tribute to her dad at the end of the show. Nice Touch. Kate couldn't wait to drive back & be with her family.

Heard the bit when Kate said she would be running the London Marathon again next year.
Absolutely no problem for Kate last time, but Kate did say on Kerrang! Radio after last year's run that fellow 'celebrity', Amanda Holden, arbiter of 'talent' in Britain, don't you know! , was absolutely vile to her before the pre-marathon 'celebrity' press conference.

I think Kate wants to run a faster time.

Kerrang! Radio broadcasts from Birmingham but their FM coverage has a limited coverage across the wider region & they want national coverage via DAB, satelite TV & the internet.
