I hate talking money on a forum including Kate's but thats quite possible- Kate took a Celebspot once upon a time(standing in for Peaches!)and it was 10K(preLeaman) and the festival big names used to get 30K for a nights work.I think Kate will do less if she likes the gig and its convenient.And what about the abroad with the flying and the expenses and them not knowing her except as a DJ-must be quite a fee.

Think Vilt was referring to the Lorraine Kelly gig for Peaches Geldolf, but the important aspect is, Kate's determination to be treated as a serious DJ, something in the main she has tried to do. That's why what mixmag say is so important.

Of course promoters have booked Kate because of Big Brother hype but at least she has actually tried to emphasise the fact that she is a House DJ, something M8 pointed out this year in their interview.

Of course there's going to be mainstream opportunities due the fact that Kate emerged from Big Brother, like Hole in the Wall, etc., but Kate is predominantly on the outskirts of A-list celebrity promotion - see the likes of the daughters of the rich and famous, ie the Geldof sisters, Daisy Lowe, etc., or z-listers like former BB housemates waiting for the next glamour shoot opportunity in The Daily Star or tedious lads' mags.

Kate should make sure her dance career is at least a top priorty equal to Kerrang! Radio.

Kate was funny last night talking about her trip to Guernsey for a gig at the weekend.
Kate and her boyfriend were held by airport staff to check their luggage contained no drugs!
Kate told the story in her usual humorous style; she was clearly angered by the hassle, but added at the end that the custom official in question had the cheek to ask her for her autograph for his son after it was all over!

Kate presented breakfast today on Kerrang! and was in a rather chipper mood. Very good.

The autograph was probably for himself really, but he didn't want to admit it!!

Should be on Kate's Kerrang! Radio thread, but Kate presented the breakfast show again today - one of Simon James, or Hill is ill.

Kate in good form - still ethusiastically promoting the Kerrang! Radio Xmas party this week - but if she has to present the breakfast show all week, that could change!

Reminds of Kate being propositioned by some dude on holiday who said she was one of his "three"-allowed by wife to screw if ever the opportunity presented. Kate declined btw.

I was browsing in WHSmith today, and in the Tillate mag there was a rather good review of Kate's NYE gig on page 82, don't know if it was last months edition or this, we tend to get these mags late down here. She also seems to be getting good feedback for her Dumfries gig last weekend. Clearly traveling to these barbarian lands seem to go well for her. Rather Kate then me, I have to say

But Kate actually makes the effort to travel; that's the only way she was going to get credibility as a true Dance DJ, as opposed to being a truly naff 'celebrity' DJ begging for z-list celebrity/corporate opportunities in London and the like, even though that could have made Kate far more money.

Kate never really makes comments about her Dance career on her Kerrang! Radio Drivetime show regarding hopes and ambitions, etc., other than to say she has a gig somewhere. Kerrang! Radio obviously play a different genre of music, though there has always been a crossover of peeps who go to dance clubs and see rock bands.

Hopefully, as well as positive comments from Dumfries, Kate might get some positive comments from mixmag at Pacha.

Let the likes of Jordan and Alex Reid make their money from ridiculous 'z-list celebrity' promotion. At least Kate Lawler is a radio presenter and House DJ.

Interesting that Kate has upped her online presence quite a bit recently, wonder if that's something to do with that stalker finally being punished. Who knows....
