I've just received the following email from Phony:-
"Deano, Tom, John and Robbie are playing at The Railway, Curzon Street, central Birmingham on Friday 7 June as part of a benefit gig to raise funds for Healing Hands Network.
Healing Hands Network is a registered charity and was set up to go into areas which have been affected by war to help people to cope with the trauma which lasts long after the war ends. For example:
¨ the trauma of losing people you love in horrific circumstances
¨ having to cope with torture, rape and abuse
¨ coming to terms with the effects of civil war – where people who were neighbours one day are enemies the next.
Healing Hands Network runs a healing centre in Sarajevo and also does outreach work in people’s homes or with staff in centres who help people who have been tortured get on with their lives.
Some of the best bands and solo artists in Birmingham are coming together to raise money for this charity. The evening will include short sets and acoustic slots from
