A NEW talent search, aptly-titled
The Essex Factor, is being launched on Friday, with reality TV stars
Jade Goody and Kenzie, from Blazin' Squad, among a celebrity judging panel.
The contest will run over 10 weeks at the cool Epping venue, Club 195.
The format will be exactly the same as ITV's celebrated X Factor and the winner scoops three days in a recording studio, a recording contract and a batch of finished copies of their subsequent CD.
I'll be joining Jade and Kenzie on the panel for the launch night, and playing a set of disco and party anthems later that night too.
Former EastEnders star Sid Owen - and hopefully, kids' TV host Jeff Brazier - will also be on hand to cast an eye on the up-and-coming performers on show.
The competition is part of Club 195's new Friday-nighter, 195 Live, which hopes to feature live music from unknown local bands and singers each week, followed by a night of party classics from behind the decks.
If you would like to enter The Essex Factor, call the venue now on 01992 572195 or go to
