On last nights show fairly heavy wink that Kate starts tonight.

Several page interview in Star magazine this week plugging Playdate.Some interesting bits-Russell Brand and Lee Otway -both a definite not bonked ever.It couldn't be clearer.One terrific new picture here.
She is thrilled that so many from BB3 have done so well(yes including Jade!) considering what a hard time they are given compared to other media types.But Kate thinks she herself wouldn't have applied for BB as it is now-it can still be entertaining but different types of people apply nowadays.

Hi Guys! - been getting some sun in the Med.

I recorded Kate's debut(25/10/06) & she was absolutely fantastic - not as good as Brian yet but she did really well considering it was three & half hours of live TV.

Yes, it's another Dating show & the show broadcasts at some ungodly hour in the morning but Kate was excellent.
She can really express herself there - & live two lives where she's fast becoming a respected Club DJ & also work as a TV presenter(nice picture of Kate & rest of the presenters in Star magazine this week).

Kate's on a mini DJ tour now & will be presenting Playdate next week.

Yeah, nice interview - but no original picture of Kate! :- I think the picture of Kate was printed before(could be wrong!).

Kate was always going to do a post Love Island interview but she left it a few weeks because she didn't want to tread on Bianca's toes - typical Kate.

As I said on the Love Island thread, Lee Otway is an imbecile & fantasist - the only surprise is how restrained Kate was in the interview.

I think Kate makes a very intelligent point about the way the media treats BB housemates, but in reality, she has been treated relatively well - & will always be considered more 'cooler' than any other BB contestant.
Yes, Kate could have made far more money being a BB Z-list BB cliche but she refused - Kate wanted to work.
As Kate said, she turned down far more money than she won on BB to appear in her underwear with raunchy interview in a Sunday tabloid a few days later - & as we know every evicted BB babe since has taken up that offer.

Jade has had more money thrown at her & some plebs believe the hype but Jade was only 'saved' because the tabloids felt sorry for her(her upbringing) & her fame is based on being patronised & ridiculed - & not a little obsession on Jade's part.

I tend to agree. Apart from never dreaming of considering the auditions as opposed to the applications, I'm glad there were the likes of Kate in the year before us. If it had been this years lot I might not have applied.

In the Evening Herald (Dublin) 3/11/2006 there is an article called "Celebrity Diary" with Brendan Courtney. Brendan is a Presenter on Clothes Show with Louise Rednapp and Playdate.

He discusses both shows but this is what he had to say about Playdate.

"Last Monday morning I flew back from Dublin after a brilliant weekend and went to a couple of meetings. I then spent from 9pm to 3am at rehersals for PlayDate,which is a brand new dating game format that I wrote with my company. Its mental. Its very risky and very funny and still in pilot stage to be honest.

People can ring in and make a date live on TV. The only drawback at al is that its on very late - doesn't start until midnight. Its probably just as well as its a bit naughty. But the network is happy with it and are starting an advertising campign for it. I'm only presenting it two nights a week.

Other presenters including Kate Lawler are on the rest of the time. On Tuesday morning I was in the studio doing voiceovers for playdate and I presented the show myself that night".

This is word for word from the article. Brendan singles out Kate from the other presenters which is good.

Brendon was a guest on Rise 3 years ago but when Kate was away on holiday so he didn't really register.Is he a comedian by training?i assumed he was.I also saw him compereing an evening show on Irish Tv about 6 months ago but didn't know if it was regular or not.it was something like saturday night with Brendon Courtney.He seems Ok so far.
