Legacy? - z-list promotion & incredible hype in this z-list celebrity media age to the masses who believe in it, 'celebrity promotion' in the tabloids, seleb magazines & via the so-called 'intellectuals' in the 'intelligent' press like The Guardian who pontificate & patronise those who read them. Makes you sick.
The 'Dianaification' has happened regarding Jade Goody within The Sun & co - expect mass hysteria when Jade Goody does die.

Absolutely tragic for the poor girl.
No matter what Jade Goody has made for her children in all this and all the dreadful promotion of her illness, I, like others on this forum who liked Kate Lawler, wished Jade Goody the best.

It is the mawkish spin the media hacks are doing regarding Jade's dying days that I find distasteful.
Jade's ignorance made her a fortune and it wold appear is now costing her her life - she didn't follow up warning letters and signs that all was not well and is paying the ultimate price now. All very sad, but the media should not do an about face and turn her life into a fairytale.

Yes Madeline, there is plenty that could said about all this.
Jade never lived her 'true' life on the TV as the hacks & TV pundits have said & will say.
It's all been about dreadful z-list promotion in the z-list media.
Bit like Jordan - just subterfuge & 'celebrity' promotion - where promoted modern 'celebrities' are painted as holier-than-thou.

It's absolutely tragic that a young mother will die, & to give Jade Goody credit, she is from what we've told a good mom, but that's hardly a virtue; it is something that should be expected from a mother who did earn good money after BB3 from media hype, as opposed to moms out there who never had a penny.

And I would hate the fact that any man was messing Jade Goody around and abusing her.
Jade said a footballer she went out with locked her in own house when she tried to finish with him - what a piece of scum that 'man' was.

It's funny but predictable that Davina McCall wasn't there at Jade Goody's wedding.
John Noel Management dumped Jade Goody before Ofcom published the tapes of CBB5.
The whole lot of them make me sick.

But I've never forgot that a young woman is dying.

Just one point about Jade Goody's smear tests in the last few years before things went tragically wrong. Jade's friend Kevin Adams said on This Morning last week that Jade had been misdiagnosed. Philip Schofield cut in and said they couldn't talk about things like that without getting the full facts.

It's great that more women are having smear tests due to the publicity of Jade Goody's plight - but something has went dreadfully awry - & Jade Goody is paying the price amongst all this dreadful z-list hype.

Victory for Jade: Govt U-turn on cervical cancer screening for under 25s

Cervical cancer checks for women under 25 could be brought back after Ministers yesterday ordered a review of the issue.

It could mean that women in England aged 20 and upwards would be entitled to smear tests again, as their peers in the rest of the UK currently are.

Jade Goody creates memory box as final gift for her two sons

JADE GOODY made a memory box about her life to help her sons cope with her tragic death.

The reality TV star - who died from cervical cancer last week - packed the keepsake with her perfume, letters and diary notes of her last days.

She hoped it would help Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie come to terms with their loss.

Jade, 27, sought advice from charity Grief Encounter on preparing them for her passing.

There is no doubt Jade like a lot of other celebrities raised the very important concern about the lack of knowledge/education people have regarding their own self intrest to get the check ups and information so they can live a lot longer then they will without it.
Jade was never a spokesperson for a cervical cancer awareness until she was at deaths door. She only spoke out when it was too late for her, so for people to start championing on her behalf for a statue and near saint hood is making her unfortunate death into a sham.

Totally agree.
Jade Goody's initial cervical cancer diagnosis back in september was going to be used as a launch pad, with Max Clifford's help, for Jade Goody's re-promoted 'celebrity'.
The thought of promoting awareness for young women of this horrible disease was secondary.
Jade Goody getting the positive results of cervical cancer on India's Big Brother(where she said she was prepared to stay away from her kids for three months) is one one of the most disgraceful things that's ever happened on television. I know it wasn't shown live but it has been shown many times since, initially to promote hype about Jade Goody's condition.

Things got tragically serious, & then & only then did 'people' jump on the need to promote awareness of cervical cancer & the need for the government to at least encourage young women in England to take on board reminders from their GP to take the test by the time they're 20, minimum.

Jade's legacy heels the world

NOW that’s heel-y impressive.

Yesterday saw fifteen stiletto-clad men teetering their way round London's Regents Park in aid of Cancer Research.

The ‘In Her Shoes’ morning saw each runner make their way to the finish line to raise awareness of the 5K Race For Life running events run in aid of the UK charity.

Boost for Jade cervical smear test

THE Sun’s call to lower the age at which women in England and Wales can be screened for cervical cancer received a boost yesterday.

A petition signed by nearly 180,000 readers — all moved by our campaign in memory of Big Brother star Jade Goody — was handed to Health Minister Ann Keen.
