WHILE most former Big Brother contestants can look forward to a lifetime of D-list party obscurity, one former housemate has broken rank and won her dream job.

Southport DJ Adele Roberts has landed a weekend slot on Radio 1Xtra. And the 32-year-old – who made her reality show appearance back on the third series in 2002 – tells Insider she can’t wait to start her new role.
Adele will take to the airwaves between 1pm and 4pm every Saturday and Sunday on the hit station which now claims record figures of above a million listeners each week.
For the former Merchant Taylors’ girl it’s another step into the big time after joining her new management company The Hub Entertainment earlier this year.
“Austin and the whole Hub team have been fantastic helping me achieve my dream in such a short period of time,” says Adele.
“I’ve been a dedicated listener to 1Xtra for years and it’s a privilege to now be a 1Xtra presenter. I can’t wait to get started.”
The DJ has come a long way since beginning her radio career after her Big Brother exit. Starting out at Rock FM, Adele moved on to present on The Hits Radio before swiftly graduating to Capital FM.
Her new slot on BBC 1Xtra is the biggest presenting role to date for her, although she’s already got interviews with some of the biggest stars in music under her belt including Usher, 50 Cent, Nicole Scherzinger and Tinie Tempah.
As well as radio, Adele has also played at some of the UK’s biggest events including Creamfields, Ibiza warm-ups and many celeb parties.
