According to BBC News Alex had 39% of vote and Alison 37% at 8.30 and the last 3 minutes of voting turned that around ???????

How odd.

well i bet when people heard that Alex was ahead,they all got off there arse's and voted for Alison loads of times! i did ()^

Except of course you didn't know till afterwards that that was the case - no one said at 8.30 Alex is in the lead now did they ! Come on.

Do you think that maybe Davina's announcement before the lines closed could have actually influenced the vote?

Without hearing how close it was, they'd be like "Oh, we've done our bit, what'll happen will happen, blah blah..."

But when they heard how close it was, those who wanted Alison out would have been "It's THAT close?!?! There's still time to vote!"

Davina could say anything. It is not to influence...more like a phone any number on your screen and give the sponcer 25p etc... It's her job.

Davina is very much there to influence, if you looked at the clips being shown at the time people could still vote they were very much focused on Alison actually.

Basically though, never trust TV phone voting - pop idol, big brother etc etc. I detect a put up job here to get the last amount of votes they needed. I honestly think the public would have voted Alex out but it seems the BB team wants him in for entertainment value.

They havnt ever told us the votes before....definaly done on purpose to get a quick boost of ££ before the lines closed if you ask me!

honestly, when davina said alex was in the lead i was so tempted to vote for alison because i thought "there's still time."
then i decided that
a) my vote wouldnt make a difference
and
b) i'm too lazy to pick up the phone
