Vaughan: "Marsh is most unpleasant person I've met"

I'm A Celebrity star Rodney Marsh was taken to hospital after straining a ligament on the show

Capital radio DJ Johnny Vaughan has branded I'm A Celebrity contestant Rodney Marsh "the most unpleasant person" he's ever met.

During a five-minute tirade on his breakfast show, Vaughan claimed that the former England footballer was bitter about the amount of money modern footballers get paid and that he once made a fellow guest cry on air.

Vaughan said: "The people I'm watching are only there for the money, especially the likes of Rodney Marsh. I've met him a few times and he is without a doubt the most unpleasant person I've had on any of my shows."

He then revealed that Marsh was told to leave the Capital Dj's special World Cup show after he made model Jodie Kidd cry.

Vaughan said: "She came on as someone who likes football, and he started taking her to task about how little she knew about it, who was her favourite player, explain the offside rule etc. He was so rude, the producer actually told him to get out."

J admits he’s embarrassed about 5ive

We hate it when ex-boyband types get all embarrassed by their less than credible pop past. I’m A Celebrity’s J – who, in case you’ve forgotten, used to be in 1-2-3-4-5ive’ll make-ya-get-down – confessed in the jungle this morning that he “always hated” pop and prefers "underground music” (does he mean that busker at Tottenham Court Road tube who murders Hotel California every morning?). He also revealed that he’s embarrassed about having been in a boyband and said he only took the job in 5ive because his parents said it was a good way to make money. Pfft. And we thought he was following his dreams. Still, Gemma put him in his place by saying she fancied Sean from 5ive, not J. She’s so wrong though – it’s all about Abs for heatworld.

Lynne's partner hits out

The boyfriend of Lynne Franks yesterday attacked ITV for making her look a laughing stock with unflattering editing of her chanting.

Furious John Amy said I'm A Celebrity producers are focussing far too much on her meditation sessions.

His attack came as Rodney Marsh was stretchered out of the jungle after straining a knee ligament collecting firewood.

John fumed: "Lynne is very successful but they've made her into a bit of a laughing stock on the show. She's not like that at all in real life.

"Everything she's showing on there, like the chanting and the positive thinking, actually works. It works for her and for other people. The producers have focussed on one aspect of her, but there's more to her than that.

"I didn't like the way it was edited. They made her look like a complete idiot."

John touched down in Australia to greet his lover when she is eventually evicted.

He was also angry at the thought of Lynne being bullied in the jungle.

He admitted: "I don't like the bullying and can't watch the show.

"Lynne can look after herself. She's tough. She's a woman of substance. She's not a shallow actor."

Pr guru Lynne, 59, predicts an early departure from the show after failing to win immunity in a Bush Battle.

Lynne admitted yesterday: "I don't want to go first. The first person will feel unloved. "My kids said to me, 'Don't come out first'.

"But now John and Rodney, two of the most unpleasant people here, are immune to eviction, I feel it'll be me out."

Lynne's campmates - who dubbed her lazy - had to eat their words on Monday after she won the group five meals after a particularly unpleasant Bushtucker Trial. She crawled through a stinking sewer where she had to put her hand in pipes containing spiders, eels, scorpions and rats.

Life in the camp is no better for former footballer Rodney, 63, who slipped and hurt his knee while collecting logs.

He was forced to get on a stretcher and make an embarrassing exit to hospital.

Grumpy Rodney, who is desperate to return to the show, said: "As a footballer you know when you've been injured. My knee's definitely gone."

Meanwhile, a rat and fly invasion has engulfed the camp.

Katie Hopkins moaned: "The conditions are horrible."

Ex-boyband star J added: "It's disgusting. They're flying all over our food."

QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE

"I was savage. You know you don't want to mess with Janice."

Janice on knocking down stars to win 10 meals in the daredevil Uneasy Rider challenge.

BUNGLE IN THE JUNGLE

John woke up the camp at 4.21am to start cleaning and chopping wood. Marc fumed: "He's mad."

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"My stuff's ready to pop big and I need someone to run it." Lynne tells Katie "You're hired!" is she wants to a job at her firm.

I'm a Celebrity - Gemma Atkinson kisses and tells

Gemma Atkinson has told a very interested Christopher Biggins about appearing in a love scene she recently filmed with another actress.

Ex-Hollyoaks pin-up Gemma, 23, discussed her new role in Boogie Woogie, a London-set movie which sees her get very friendly indeed with actress Jaime Winstone, who is the daughter of Hollywood star Ray Winstone.

According to the Mirror, Biggins asked her about how realistic it was and if she had to be totally nude.

"Me and Jaime said we might as well do it properly," she replied. "We had a few shots of vodka, closed the set and just did it."

She added that the scene was more comfortable to perform than anything similar she has previously done with a male co-star.

Biggins, 58, recently told the camp that lately his dreams were not as naughty as they usually were, leading Lynne Franks to suggest that their tea has been drugged to lower libidos in the jungle.

But Gemma may have revived Biggins' flagging interest, given that she is prone to wearing little more than her bikini in the camp.

Insider says Marc Bannerman's flirting is set up

Forget cutting off his kangaroo balls, because it could be that Marc Bannerman's girlfriend is not angry after all.

A source on the set of I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here has told the London Paper that Marc's flirtation with Cerys Matthews is all a set-up - and what's more, his girlfriend Sarah Matravers is behind it all, Now reports.

She recently arrived in Oz and told waiting reporters that she wanted to cut off his "kangaroo balls" due to his blossoming friendship with singer Cerys.

But according to the source, Marc and Sarah plotted for him to cause a stir and create headlines by pretending to have a soft spot for Cerys.

"The gossip is it's all a set-up, that they agreed Marc would go in and flirt outrageously with someone," the insider claims.

Marc may see I'm a Celebrity as an effective way to relaunch his career, as his last role was in Footballers Wives: Extra Time back in 2006.

Prior to this, he starred in EastEnders as Gianni di Marco and Time Gentlemen Please with the hilarious comedian Al Murray.

Janice Dickinson Is This Year’s David Gest

JANICE Dickinson is this year’s David Gest.

Last year, Gest appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and we wondered if he would fall to pieces – literally.

Now Janice is in the celebrity clearing, and we are looking on wondering if the former model can hold it together, or be held together in a tight fitting suit.

“Everything about me is fake,” quipped Janice as she made her way into the jungle, “I was the first in line when they started handing out Botox – and I’m perfect.!

Or “purffett”, as any Botox enthusiast would concur.

“I coined the world supermodel back in 1979,” says Janice. “I wasn’t clever enough to trademark it but I truly did milk it for all it was worth.”

Can you trademark a word? Perhaps Janice means she should have brought out a range of Supermodel goods – shower gels, deodorants, anaesthetics – and brand them?

“I loped the earth during the ice ages when supermodels ruled the world,” says she.

Only, supermodels were not invented until 1979, so Janice would have to have been loping as a mammoth, starnose mole or a giant beaver…

Girlfriend's relief as flirty Marc is booted out of the jungle

Marc Bannerman was the first contestant to be booted out of the jungle on Wednesday, only to find his relationship with girlfriend Sarah Matravers in tatters.

Hours before Marc was voted out of I'm A Celebrity, devastated girlfriend Sarah announced she was flying home from Australia after just 48 hours Down Under after watching his on-screen antics with Cerys Matthews.

RESULT!: Sarah can be the real animal in the jungle

Scientists are desperate to know what it is that causes Christopher Biggins to laugh deliriously every eight seconds, especially with no mirrors allowed in the I'm A Celebrity camp.

Whatever it is, it's quite endearing to watch a man embrace life with a smile on his face. And that's the reason punters have been backing Biggins (right) off the board to be crowned this year's queen of the jungle.

Perhaps it's hardly surprising that someone should find life so amusing when he's spent the majority of his adult life dressed as a woman playing an ugly sister. That's why he gets on so well with Lynne Franks.

Fellow jungle-mate Marc Bannerman seems to get on well with every woman in the camp, which has annoyed the hell out of most blokes who get nowhere despite a steady stream of chat-up lines.

"If you were a car door I'd slam you all night," and "Nice legs, what time do they open" and "I seem to have lost my number, can I have yours" only ever got me a slap in the kisser. Yet Bannerman can do no wrong despite having the comic timing of an aardvark, and we all know aardvark never killed anyone.

Men in relationships, like Bannerman, will always flirt with pretty women no matter what the consequences, for the simple reason we are not able to look at breasts and think at the same time.

One little trick to avoid being caught out is to cover all tracks, make sure all saucy texts are deleted, and try not to have your extra-curricular romantic moments broadcast to a TV audience of 12million (unless, of course, they're paying).

Bannerman's public wooing of Cerys Matthews has enraged his long-term girlfriend, actress Sarah Matravers, who has flown to Australia to have it out with him (which seems to be what Cerys wants too). That's what we're told at any rate. More likely, the I'm A Celebrity producers know that the introduction of Matravers into the jungle will be pure box-office.

Okay, she'll probably cut off his dangly bits, but at least that will provide something reasonably edible for the next bushtucker trial.

Marc postpones reunion with girlfriend Sarah

He came, he saw, he flirted outrageously with a woman who wasn’t his girlfriend, and now Marc Bannerman has packed his sack and said goodbye to the jungle. Surely if last night’s eviction demonstrates anything, it’s that you guys, the viewing public, had decided it was about time the sleazy ex-EastEnder face up to what he’s done to his long-term love Sarah Matravers – who fled Australia after just 48 hours. If we were him, we’d already be on a flight back to the UK to sort things out with her, but Marc has decided to wait for at least another night. Could it be that he’s taking the extra time to decide which lady to choose? Cerys has made no secret of the fact that she’s fallen for him – she told him her chest was hurting and pointed at her heart (vomit), while Sarah has admitted, “It’s been extremely painful to watch the man I love disrespecting me and our relationship in front of the nation.” But what do you think? Would you forgive your man if he’d behaved like Marc? Go on, don’t hold back, tell us all…

I’m a celeb-BUGGY... get me out of here!

FEISTY Janice Dickinson and Lynne Franks threw the show into chaos after their Bushtucker Trial by refusing to go back to camp.

After holding creepy-crawlies in their mouths for 30 seconds at a time, the divas demanded to be provided with mouthwash.

Rivals Janice (pictured), 52, and Lynne, 59, scored nine stars out of 10 in Jungle Sweet Shop.

But they caused mayhem behind the scenes after fed-up producers refused to provide them with toiletries to clean their mouths.

A source said: "They really caused a stir. Everyone thought they had done really well on the trial and then this happened. They had a real hissy fit.

"In the end we had to give in and hand them what they wanted. The other celebrities wondered where they were. They were gone for hours."

Meanwhile, Janice has confessed she plays up to the cameras and her behaviour is an act.

She said: "At the trial, I did what they wanted me to. I put the thing in my mouth and pretended I didn’t like it.

"Lynne was showing off for the cameras as well. She did her meditation thing while doing the bugs.

"Then as soon as the camera was off, she stopped doing it."

However, former boyband star J, 31, has blasted the ageing US supermodel.

He said: "She does this (reality TV) for a living. She is playing a game. And she admits it.

"I have never seen someone so egotistical in my life. I can’t stand to be on same show as her."

Chef John Burton Race, 50, added: "She is trying to hog the limelight and it’s working. She’s a great player."

And Cerys Matthews, 38, said: "She is very clever in the mindless world of reality shows." dailysnack

Cerys could quit jungle after Marc's exit

Marc Bannerman's time in the jungle is over as he was the first person to be evicted from I'm A Celebrity.

Cerys Matthews also threatened to quit the show after revealing her feelings to Bannerman.

In a late night chat by the creek, she told him 'My chest hurts' as she prodded him on his chest to show him where she meant.

Bannerman asked: 'Why, what's going on? Have you hurt yourself?'

Matthews pointed to his heart and said: 'There, what's there?'

He finally realised what she was saying, and told her: 'Oh. I've got to be so careful ... I don't want to hurt anyone.'

The former Eastenders star now has a relationship nightmare on his hands after cosying up to Matthews, despite having a girlfriend of two years.

Sarah Matravers had flown out to see her man and give him support, but she flew straight back to the UK after Bannerman's flirting with Matthews intensified.

The actress told producers that she couldn't watch 'the man I love disrespecting me and our two-and-a-half year relationship in front of the nation with a woman he's known for a week' and that she was returning back to the UK after just 48 hours in Australia.

Presenters Ant and Dec ventured into the jungle to reveal the eviction fate to the celebrity campers.

Ex-Apprentice star Katie Hopkins and Bannerman were told that they both faced eviction and the group reacted with shock when the actor was told he'd be leaving the jungle.

Other celebrities were heard saying 'I thought he was going to win' while he repeatedly whispered 'don't worry' into Matthews' ear, who responded: 'I feel really bad.'

During his post-eviction interview with Ant and Dec, Bannerman's happy mood was replaced by a more sombre disposition as he watched footage of his flirting with the Catatonia singer.

He told the presenters that he'd had a 'really good time' on the show, but it was clear that he was worried about his relationship with Matravers.

'I'm in trouble, aren't I?' said Bannerman. 'Nothing's going on [with Cerys], we got on fantastically. We bonded quickly. She's a fantastic girl. It's a difficult thing [being in the jungle]. It's a strange scenario.'

When Dec suggested that Bannerman had a deep connection with Matthews, he agreed: 'Very deep… I didn't expect it to happen at all. It's not panned out right for me. I'm really surprised and shocked.

'I'm shocked that I could have an intense relationship with Cerys… it's hard not to crave a little bit of love. I was struggling with my emotions. I still am… S***!

'I'm terrified. I'm going to have to apologise. I've embarrassed [Sarah] and I've embarrassed myself.'

Dec responded: 'She was here…she's gone home.'

Shocked at that statement, Bannerman said: 'I'd like to go back to London, right now.'
