Hunter tipped to tackle TV's celebrity jungle

Rod Stewart's ex-wife Rachel Hunter is being lined up to star in TV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here this November.

------------------------- Image

The show's bosses hope the 37-year-old swimsuit and lingerie model will provide glamour to the series and may even spill the beans on her relationship with Rod.

"Rachel is the kind of big name the show would love to sign up. She is stunning and has great stories to tell," an ITV source told the Daily Star.

"If the price is right she could be willing. If she walked in it would be great, a jaw-dropping moment."

ANT and Dec will miss next Tuesday’s National Television Awards — where they’re up for a record FOUR gongs — as they’ll be preparing for I’m A Celebrity in Australia. An insider said: “They’re gutted. The NTAs are special to them.” Sun

FORMER Footballers’ Wives star Caroline Chikezie is being lined up to inject some glamour into this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Curvy Caroline, who played Elaine Hardy in the ITV drama, is on the producers’ wishlist for the show next month.

Ice little earner
Iceland isn't the most obvious sponsor of a reality TV show set in a jungle. Bugland maybe, but Ice? But that hasn't stopped everyone's favourite high street frozen food chain splashing the cash on the sixth series of ITV's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! Iceland's marketing director Nick Canning explained, not entirely convincingly, that the Ant and Dec show "embodies the fun, down-to-earth spirit of Iceland". Hmm. Then there's the Iceland research which shows that I'm a Celebrity is its customers "very favourite show". Right. The rather more obvious connection is that the 2004 I'm a Celebrity winner, Kerry Katona (then McFadden), is the face of Iceland's advertising. So what better reason to sign on the dotted line and bring her back as the star of its new sponsorship idents? If Iceland makes the papers half as much as Kerry, they will presumably be delighted. guardian

Malandra gets into I'm A Celeb

October 27, 2006

EX-EMMERDALE star Malandra Burrows has signed up for I’m A Celebrity . . Get Me Out Of Here!

The 40-year-old blonde, who played Kathy Glover, will swap the Dales for the Aussie jungle on the ITV1 reality hit.

Malandra, who was in Emmerdale for 17 years, won a record deal after leaving but was later dropped.

A show insider said: “Malandra’s pretty gutsy. She’ll be great eating bugs.” Set to join her next month are Liza Minnelli’s ex David Gest and Cherie Blair’s sister Lauren Booth.

Now it's ta-ta to Tara

TARA Palmer-Tomkinson has been axed from I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here Now!

The It Girl, 34, hosted four series of the ITV2 spin-off after starring as a not-so-happy camper in the first series of the ITV1 show.

We can reveal that fiesty Kelly Osbourne, 22, is considering stepping in for the show, filmed in Oz, next month.

Kelly hosts ITV2’s National TV Awards coverage with her brother Jack on Tuesday. Sun

Beauty lands £150k I'm A Celebrity bonanza

OTHER stars lined up for a two-and-a-half week jungle stint include Cherie Blair's half-sister LAUREN BOOTH, 39, ex-Corrie wildman CHRIS QUINTEN, 49, and former model PAULA HAMILTON, 48.

Three boy band hunks are also battling it out for a slot on the tough reality show. Former A1 singer BEN ADAMS, 24, Busted's MATT WILLIS, 23, and JAMIE SHAW, 21, from One True Voice, are all tussling for a place.

Former BBC newsreader JAN LEEMING, 64, is also said to be heading Down Under. This year's extended show will again be hosted by Ant and Dec.

And ITV producers have vowed to make the Bush-tucker Trials tougher than ever. A spokesman said: "We can neither confirm nor deny the contestants' names." Sundaypeople

Kelly Osbourne to Host I'm a Celebrity

It's all change in the I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here camp this year, and by "all change" I mean "same old hosts, same old D-list celebs, same old format, and only two small changes to the nightly spin-off show".

Those changes come in the form of Kelly Osbourne and Brendon Burns (formerly of The 11 o'clock Show), who will be replacing Mark Durden-Smith and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, who have presented the live show for four years now - well, four years worth of TPT is a bit much for anyone to take, isn't it? Will Kelly do any better? Well, watch the National Television Awards tonight at 8pm on ITV to check out her presenting style.

Plug pulled on I'm A Celeb live footage

I’M A CELEBRITY fans are about to be hit with a shock jungle blackout.

ITV bosses have slashed their round-the-clock live coverage of what the stars get up to in the Aussie outback.

Now in the new series – which features former Hear’Say babe Myleene Klass, 28 – viewers will get just ONE hour of live feed from Oz instead of 10.

And to fill the vacant hours, they are broadcasting a host of their money-raking ITV Play phone-based game shows.

Jungle fan Michael Rosen, 31, from Richmond, fumed: "It’s ridiculous that they’ve cut the live feed.

"We won’t see the celebs at their best and worst. We’ll just see what ITV choose to show us when they edit the clips down for the main show."

For the past four years, fans have had plenty to watch on top of the show fronted by Ant, 30, and Dec, 31, both pictured.

Bosses cottoned onto the fact fans loved tuning in through the night to see the live action as it happened rather than waiting for the highlights.

However, when the new series begins on Monday November 13, ITV will cut their live footage and follow it with the game shows.

Last night a show spokeswoman said: "As the audience watching TV in the early hours is very small we have decided not to run as much live streaming."

Myleene is tipped to be joined in the camp by funnygirl Faith Brown, 58; fashion designer Scott Henshall, 29; ex-Emmerdale actress Malandra Burrows, 40; model Paula Hamilton, 48; Cherie Blair’s half-sister Lauren Booth, 39; former Corrie actor Chris Quinten, 49; ex-BBC news reader Jan Leeming, 64, and former Busted singer Matt Willis, 23.

A source said: "We’ve got the most diverse mix ever. There will be fireworks." Dailystar
