The former All Saints star has been in tears and claims to have not slept since arriving at the camp in Murwillumbah near Brisbane. "I'm going to go home," she told singer Sheila Ferguson on the first night. "I don't think I can do this, this is not me, I don't think I have got the strength. I can't snap out of it. I'm not mentally prepared for this right now, I can't do it." Meanwhile, former East 17 star Brian Harvey has joined the camp after after the sudden death of his grandmother. The 30-year-old said his first instinct was to head home, but his family persuaded him to stay on. He said: "I know for a fact that she (nan) would have wanted me to stay here. I'm going to do this for my nan." There has already been friction between journalist Janet Street-Porter and Paul Burrell. "The monarchy is past its sell by date and even in spite of how they treated you will stick up for them," Street-Porter said. Fran Cosgrove, Antonio Fargas and Joe Pasquale attempted the first challenge, which would have earned dinner for all the celebrities. Cosgrove was tied to the ground by his wrists and ankles as Fargas, 58, and Pasquale attempted to release insects into boxes without getting any on their mate below. |
