I’m a Celebrity… winner Joe Pasquale has committed himself to starring in next season’s pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome, Peter Pan, which will be produced by Qdos.

The comedian enjoyed a good response from reviewers and audiences this season, when he starred in Jack and the Beanstalk. He said: “I looked at the offers I received for Christmas this year and had such a brilliant time in Birmingham that I decided to come back. I’m fed up with eating beans, so I won’t be doing Jack and the Beanstalk again and anyway I saw Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean and fancied myself as a bit of a Johnny Depp.”

Peter Pan will run at the Hippodrome from December 21 to January 29. Pasquale recently appeared in An Audience with Joe Pasquale on ITV1.

Chief executive of Birmingham Hippodrome Stuart Griffiths said: “Joe was a smash hit in pantomime last year with record-breaking ticket sales. He’s hilarious onstage and provides quality family entertainment. When I knew we were getting Peter Pan this year, it seemed the obvious choice to invite him back and we’re delighted he has said a big ‘yes’.”
