Wild-eyed and drugged, Kerry screamed: "The curtains are all talking to me!"

I'M A Celebrity star Kerry Katona's life is being blasted apart by a terrifying secret cocaine addiction, three of her close friends sensationally reveal today.

The ex-Atomic Kitten goes on nightmare drug binges— even snorting it her mother's home—watching videos of herself and singing karaoke songs before collapsing in a stupor.

Now best friend of ten years Joanne Goodier has come forward with other pals to lift the lid on her dark secret in a bid to get her to seek help.

"Kerry is killing herself with cocaine. It's like she doesn't care about anything when she's on it," said Joanne, 28, who was so close to the star they affectionately called each other stepsisters.

"She binges on cocaine for days on end without sleep," said Joanne. "It's almost as if she wants to self-destruct. One night I found her in such a state she was screaming about the curtains talking to her. She needs help."

Her fears for Kerry are shared by Joanne's fiancé, Mark Bray, 32. Both have signed legal affidavits confirming their stories. A number of other concerned friends have also given statements confirming Kerry's cocaine habit but have asked not to be named at this stage.

Mark—a building firm contract manager—told us: "I have seen Kerry snort cocaine at her house and at the Conrad Hotel in London where we have all stayed together. Everything Joanne says is the truth."

Wreck

Another friend of the star, nurse Colette Cody, came forward to tell us: "I saw Kerry take cocaine when she was at her mum's house. She was chopping up lines in the kitchen. She was a complete wreck."

We can also reveal Kerry's current boyfriend, painter Dave Cunningham, is aware she has taken the drug in the past, but she has tried to convince him she has kicked her secret habit—a habit that has got out of control in recent months.

Her pals reveal how mum-of-two Kerry's binges have been triggered by depression over her split from former Westlife star Brian McFadden last year and her on-off relationship with Dave. Joanne has been close to Kerry since the two met as children when Kerry's mum Sue had a long relationship with Joanne's late dad, David.

She revealed how she had to nurse Kerry through shattering withdrawal symptoms after one appalling SEVEN-DAY binge at her mum's house in Warrington, Cheshire, while the star's little daughters, aged three and two, were in Ireland with their father.

"It was a few months ago and she'd just split with Dave. He'd dumped her because he'd found out she was back on cocaine. He knew she took coke when she was younger but thought it was all in the past.

"He called me begging me to help her—so I went to her mum's. She was in the worst state I've ever seen. She had the karaoke machine out and had been watching videos of herself singing. I took Kerry back to the house she was renting five miles away. She was in such a mess I had to undress her and put her in the bath. She was incoherent and kept falling around. I had to bathe her myself like you would a baby.

"She was hallucinating, she was saying, ‘The curtains are talking to me,' and stuff like that. I was terrified. She was crying, ‘I want Dave here.'

"The next day I spoke to Dave and got him to come round and patch things up. I begged him to give her another chance. Dave agreed. For the entire week, me, Mark, my two children and Dave all lived in Kerry's house. She didn't get out of bed for days." But that wasn't the only time Joanne saw Kerry taking cocaine.

"The first was at a party at the rented house she moved into after her split with Brian last September," said Joanne, who was there with Mark and pals. "Kerry had been drinking and took out a bag of coke in the kitchen," said Joanne. "She chopped it into lines with her credit card then rolled a bank note and snorted it.

Worried

"She took it all night. It was like she wanted to get out of it because she was upset over the break-up.

"A few weeks later Mark and I went to London with her to watch one of the X-Factor finals. We were in her room in the Conrad Hotel. Kerry produced a bag of cocaine again and began snorting it.

"She had told me she first took the drug when she was a teenager, before Atomic Kitten. I knew Kerry before she was in the band but I had no idea she took drugs then. When she moved back to Warrington Kerry started taking cocaine regularly. I was worried because I knew it was getting out of control. Each time when I saw her take it she took at least three grams, which I'm told is a hell of a lot. I tried to persuade her to get help to stop but she didn't want help."

Nurse Colette Cody, 26, was also close to Kerry—until she lost her boyfriend Dave Cunningham to her.

She revealed that Kerry hit a low point just before Brian dumped her in September and told how she watched the drunken star snort cocaine at her mum Sue's house.

Colette recalled: "She was back filming a show called With A Little Help From My Friends at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

"Dave was part of the show as they went to school together and I was there too. I was talking to Kerry at a party afterwards and she told me, ‘Me and Brian are going through a bad patch'. Kerry was in a real mess that day. We were at her mum's house and she was snorting lines of cocaine.

"She offered me some but I told her I didn't take drugs. I was shocked to see her doing it." Colette told how her ex Dave admitted to her in March that Kerry used to take drugs but had stopped. She said: "Dave told me, ‘I know Kerry has done coke in the past but she doesn't now.' I warned him Kerry was still taking it but he ignored me."

For Joanne—who has a steady job in customer services—the final straw came at her hen party last month at Newcastle's Tuxedo Princess club.

"Kerry was going to be my maid of honour. It was my big night but I barely saw her at all," said Joanne. "She was in and out of the toilets all night.

Begged

"When we got back to Warrington she begged me to let her come back to mine. I was tired and wanted to chill out while Kerry wanted to carry on drinking. She kept going upstairs, disappearing to the bathroom for ten minutes at a time." The two ended up having a row with Kerry throwing drinks over both Joanne and her boyfriend Mark. Angry Jo threw the star out. "We had another blazing row over the phone the next day. Kerry has now pulled out of my wedding next month," said Joanne.

But she is convinced their bust-up would never have happened if it wasn't for the changes in Kerry caused by cocaine.

She said: "Kerry isn't an occasional drug user—she frequently takes cocaine and goes on long and sustained cocaine binges. These binges have become more and more frequent since she split with Brian and moved back home. Her cocaine problem has never been worse."

Last night Kerry's spokesman Max Clifford said: "I've spoken to Kerry and she told me how sad she was that after being so close to Joanne she decided to do this.

"Kerry says she would not, and has never, taken cocaine."

Kerry's estranged husband Brian refused to comment when asked about her drug habit. notw

Kerry Katona has hit back at claims that she’s a cocaine addict – saying that the allegations, made by her former best friend Joanne Goodier in yesterday’s News of the World, are a “pack of lies”.

Joanne - who’s been Kerry’s best friend for 10 years - told the Sunday tabloid that her pal “is killing herself with cocaine”, and that her drug binges were triggered by her split with Brian McFadden last year. “It’s almost as if she wants to self-destruct,” says Jo. “She needs help.” The paper also claimed that a number of other friends of the ex-Atomic Kitten star backed Jo’s story - although they asked not to be named at this stage.

Today, however, a “hurt and betrayed” Kerry has denied the story - and is vowing to sue over the claims. “She categorically denies the allegations,” said her PR man, Max Clifford, last night. “She does not take drugs and never has. It’s totally untrue, total lies. And because of the seriousness of the allegations, she’s going to sue. That’s not something she’s happy about – she’s just very sad now… Yes, she lets her hair down and is emotional – but she is not on cocaine.”

Before dancing any further we should say Kerry Katona - former singer of Atomic Kitten and permanent northern loudmouth - strongly denies any claims that she has taken drugs. She’s got Max Clifford saying the same too. Though he's fine with the split boob thing.

The trouble began, as it so often does, with a tabloid…

Katona’s ‘best friend’ Joanne Goodier recently told the News of the World the following revelation.

“Kerry is killing herself with cocaine. It's like she doesn't care about anything when she's on it.”

If such a rumour were true it would certainly explain why Katona has suddenly got skinnier than Lindsay Lohan on a treadmill. Cokeheads are not known for their midnight munchies. That's a big if though.

"She binges on cocaine for days on end without sleep. It's almost as if she wants to self-destruct.” insists Goodier.

Katona doesn’t have a lot to be chipper about these days. Her ex Brian McFadden has got all indie hair and good looking. Plus, he’s found himself a ‘nice young lady’ he can actually take home to mum and dad with a straight face.

So, despite a bevy of reasons a failed pop singer and daytime TV idler might have for turning to the powder mountain, Katona is still denying all such accusations.

"It's totally untrue, total lies. And because of the seriousness of the allegations, she's going to sue.” remarked PR bigshot Max Clifford.

Even is such claims are a "a pack of lies", June is starting to look like a pretty bumpy month for Kerry Katona.
