Shamed MP To Appear in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'

Former MP Ron Davies is set to appear in popular reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here'.

The shamed former Welsh Secretary is in talks with ITV bosses who have lined him up for the gruelling programme, filmed the Australian jungle.

The married politician achieved notoriety after he was forced to resign from the Cabinet in 1998 when he was robbed at a well known London gay haunt while allegedly trawling for sex, in what he said was a "moment of madness".
Mr Davies was later caught in a sex act with a builder at a picnic spot in Bath, but denied the claims, insisting he had been "looking for badgers." He was forced to abandon his Welsh Assembly seat after the incident in 2003 and later admitted: "I have a compulsive disorder which causes me to seek out high-risk situations."

ITV bosses are reportedly keen to sign up the disgraced politician in the hope he will open up about his experiences to the other contestants.

A show insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "When we approached Davies we thought he would tell us to get lost. But actually Ron quite likes the idea of showing people what he's really about." femalefirst

Here is part of an article by Alex Salmond, taken from the magazine called "InsideAberdeenshire":-

Quote:
BIG BROTHER

I have never been much of a fan of Big Brother or indeed “reality television” in general.

It certainly conforms to no reality of which I am familiar except perhaps a poor episode of the Outer Limits.

I tend to turn down very little television work believing by and large in the old maxim that any publicity is good publicity. However, I have turned down a couple of reality shows and am pretty certain that I made the right decision.

The thought of being stuck in the jungle with the overpowering Christine Hamilton would make my flesh crawl without the creepies.

Ant and Dec's I'm a Celebrity wishlist

"We write a list every now and again but it gets torn up"

I'm A Celebrity presenters Ant and Dec have revealed who they would really like to see in the jungle in the next series of the ITV show.

And it seems the A Team's Mr T is top of the list for both Geordies with Gary Coleman, Su Pollard, Christopher Biggins also deemed worthy of some jungle torture.

But the pair admit they haven't got a clue who will actually make it onto the show.

"We write a list every now and again but it gets torn up and put in the bin and they book in some proper people," explained Dec.

"We don't know who is on this year. They really do keep it from us."

And the pair wished past contestants Jordan and Peter Andre well in their new marriage. "Everyone was saying, 'Is it geniune, is it real' and we really hoped it was because they made a really sweet couple on the show.ITV

Corrie's Sunita says I'm a celeb, let me in there

SOAP star Shobna Gulati has been through hell and back after being dumped by her lover AND Corrie bosses.

But I can reveal the leggy actress is smiling again after the double blow.

The single mum-of-one will be jetting Down Under after landing a place in I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

My spy tells me: "Shobna is keeping her good news a big secret - but she's over the moon. Her whole world came crashing down on her when she lost her Corrie job - and her man too.

" Shobna was in tears when he dumped her because she was too clingy.

"So you can imagine her relief and joy when she was told the good news about being selected for ITV's I'm A Celebrity. It's just the tonic she needs to get her life back on track again." Shobna had been dating Chris Nelson for 18 months.

She met the former tour DJ with Manchester band Happy Mondays at a singing academy.

The actress, who has a 10-year-old son Akshay, fell for Chris on the rebound after a painful split with ex-Emmerdale star Gary Turner, 36, who she'd dated for four years.

And if that wasn't enough, Corrie producer Steve Frost then decided to axe her character Sunita Alahan along with Vicky Entwistle, 37, who plays Janice Battersby.

But gutsy Shobna is determined to show Corrie what they're missing when she heads straight from the cobbled Street to the jungle and joins fellow celebs A-Team star Mr T, writer Toby Young and badger-loving MP Ron Davies.

You show 'em, girl! Sundaymirror

TV gossip: I'm A Celebrity in crisis
Paul DananI’m A Celebrity bosses have been left in the lurch after Mark Durden-Smith pulled out of hosting the ITV2 spin-off show because his wife is due to give birth to twins, days after it begins. The presenter – son of the tan-tastic Judith Chalmers – has only just been told the show start date, hitherto a closely guarded secret.

The race is now on to find a replacement, and names being bandied around include Celebrity Love Island’s Paul Danan (please God, no), former I’m A Celeb star Lord Brocket, Patrick Kielty and comic Justin Lee Collins.

Even more sensationally, Hogan the Koala has been axed from the new series. The temperamental marsupial – a media star in Oz thanks to his ads for airline Qantas - joined the show last year as a mute sidekick to Ant and Dec. “I think having a koala on the show may have been an idea which looked good on paper,” said Ant. “But the reality was it just didn’t work. He was such a diva anyway. He never looked at the cameras when we wanted him to and even walked off set once.”

Mel B tells me that she has no worries about her ex-hubby Jimmy Gulzar dishing the dirt on her if he signs up to appear on I'm A Celebrity... later this year.

The one-time Spice Girl chart topper said: "He never had anything to say at home, so Lord knows what he can come up with on screen. I can't see it happening myself." Sky

David DickinsonWould you like to watch this man crawl through a snake-infested mud pool with a snake on his head? Then, ladies and gentlemen, your wish may soon be granted. Because orange-tastic TV antiques expert David Dickinson is reportedly the latest star to sign up for November’s I’m A Celebrity.

Show bosses are very excited about their new recruit. “He’s a brilliant signing for us and viewers will love him,” a source gushed to the Daily Star. “He’s very funny but he does have a bit of a temper on him and can be a diva.”

Meanwhile, nut-brown Hollywood veteran George Hamilton is also rumoured to be joining the show – and chances are that the leather-faced actor will be keen to top up his formidable tan in the jungle. But how will he react when he realises he’s going head to head with Dapper David in the sun-worshipping stakes?

Still, they’ll have plenty of other celebrities to keep them company as they battle it out: ex-EastEnders star Elaine Lordan (who played eldest Slater sister, Lynne), ex-Holby City actress Lisa Faulkner and cross-dressing basketball legend Dennis Rodman will also be there. Incidentally, Dennis featured in a really unsavoury anecdote we were told yesterday involving a piece of pasta. But we think we’ll leave that one up to your imaginations… wanadoo

I'm A Celeb... Mel B

Former Spice Girl Mel B has turned down an offer to appear in ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, which starts again next month.

She said: "I like the idea but I really am scary if I don't get food! And I've roughed it enough in my career already."

Jade Goody wants on 'I'm a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here!'

Jade Goody is desperate to appear on the next series of 'I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!'

The former 'Big Brother' babe says she is desperate to test herself in the Australian jungle in the gruelling reality TV show and is convinced she would do well in the programme's infamous bush-tucker trials.

She said: "I'd love to do it, but I don't think they want me. There'd be some things I couldn't do but I'd give it my best shot."
Jade, who is currently appearing in reality show 'Jade's Salon', has also taken a swipe at former All Saint Natalie Appleton who starred in last year's series.

Jade claims the pop beauty, who quit the programme after struggling to cope with the terrifying trials, was pathetic and is confident she could do much better.

She is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "At least I'd be better than Natalie Appleton. She was screaming when she touched a tree – give me a break." femalefirst

Jimmy Osmond For I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

Former heartthrob Jimmy Osmond is being hotly-tipped to star in the next series of 'I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here!"

The 70s star - who shot to fame as a schoolboy singer with his family group, the Osmond Family - is said to have met with TV bosses to discuss heading into the Australian jungle for the reality show.

An ITV insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper the singer, who is married with four children, would be a good prospect for the show.
The source said: "Jimmy would be great in the jungle. He could entertain everyone by singing, but there will be no sexy antics from him."

Last month, 'I'm A Celebrity' presenters Ant and Dec revealed they would love to see 'A Team' star Mr T in the jungle in the upcoming series.

The comedy duo - who are not told the final line-up until shooting is about to start - also want to see former 'Different Strokes' star Gary Coleman, actress Su Pollard and Christopher Biggins on the programme.

They said: "We write a list every now and again but it gets torn up and put in the bin and they book in some proper people. We don't know who is on this year. They really do keep it from us." femalefirst
