Sid’s healing hands
Sid Owen revealed a hitherto unknown talent when he cured a sick bird with the power of his hands. The ex-EastEnder claimed he used the ancient art of Rickaaaay – sorry, reiki - to help Jason the baby emu.
Fellow contestant Jenny Frost had noticed how Jason looked listless and unwell and was lying with his neck to one side. After a difficult day missing fiancé Dom Thrupp, she burst into tears and wailed: “Something’s wrong with Jason. If he dies, his partner emu Kylie will be heartbroken. We have to do something.”
But after Sid laid his hand on the bird and sat concentrating for several minutes, Jason got up and started pecking at his food again. “I did some reiki,” Sid explained. “It’s passing energy from your hands. I’ve done it on a few people before.”
A delighted Jenny gave Sid a hug, describing Jason’s recovery as “a miracle”. No doubt Sid will be hoping to run his hands over a few more birds before his time in the jungle is over.
