Actress Lordan quits jungle show Lordan played Lynne Hobbs in EastEnders until July 2004 Former EastEnders star Elaine Lordan will not be returning to ITV1 reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, producers have confirmed. The actress has spent the past two days in hospital after twice collapsing in the Australian jungle where the top-rating show is made. Doctors have said she is in good health but producers have decided it is too risky to allow her back into the show. The programme sees 10 personalities try to survive life in the jungle. 'Reluctantly agreed' "Knowing what challenges lie ahead in the show, ITV has decided to err on the side of caution and Elaine has reluctantly agreed to withdraw," an ITV spokesman said. The 39-year-old actress passed out on her first day in camp during a jungle trek with fellow contestants Carol Thatcher - the daughter of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher - and Emmerdale actress Sheree Murphy. Lordan was revived but collapsed a second time the following day. The actress left her role as Lynne Hobbs in EastEnders in July 2004. I'm A Celebrity... is now in its fifth series and its first episode on Sunday drew 9.4 million viewers. Fellow ex-EastEnders actor Sid Owen, ex-Atomic Kitten singer Jenny Frost, TV antiques expert David Dickinson and former child star Jimmy Osmond are also taking part. BBC |

| Post subject: | Jungle Day 3 - Elaine Out |
Elaine Lordan has been talking about her blink-and-you'll-miss-it experience on I'm A Celeb, after "reluctantly" leaving the jungle. Elaine, who ended up in hospital on day one after collapsing twice, admitted she wasn't a "natural camper". The former EastEnders star was discharged by doctors - but ITV bosses decided that the strains of the show could be too much for her to cope with. It's thought they were concerned Elaine, 39, wouldn't manage on the food rations or deal with a Bushtucker Trial. Returning to camp to pack her stuff and say her goodbyes, she said she was "gutted" to be leaving so soon. "It was very difficult. I don't think I'm what you would call a natural camper. Never ever will I ever go camping again. I can categorically state that now. "The first bit was absolutely brilliant, going up in the helicopter and then we landed and it all changed. "Then the walk was much tougher than I could have imagined. The tightrope was really hard. I can't explain what happened the day I had that seizure. "I've heard lots of descriptions of it. I can't help but laugh about it now although it's not funny. "I have a vague surreal memory of gripping Sid (Owen's) hand and saying 'help me'." In other news from the jungle, Jimmy Osmond completed his Bushtucker Trial called Kangaroo Court... he had to grab gold stars from the tails of a pen full of 'roos. After being told by Ant and Dec that despite their cuddly image, kangaroos can be vicious, Jimmy only managed to put four stars in his own pouch. From Ananova |

ELAINE Lordan yesterday criticised fellow quitter Kimberley Davies for not helping her on the tightrope into the camp. The ex-EastEnders star, who suffered a panic attack during her bid, said the Neighbours actress could have given the others tips. She said: "I'm disappointed in Kimberley. She had done a reality show in Australia where she'd been in a circus and was trained on a tightrope." Elaine, who was forced to pull out after suffering fainting fits, also told ITV1's This Morning that she only did the show for the money. Mirror |
