By Nicola Methven ELAINE Lordan's mystery collapse was yesterday blamed on the heat of the Aussie jungle. Tests showed the ex-EastEnders star was not dehydrated when she passed out on the first day. TV bosses said last night there was a "50-50" chance she would return today. Elaine, 39, was first rushed to Murwillumbah hospital a few hours after arriving at camp and she was given the all-clear. But the mum-of-one was told that TV bosses needed a second opinion before letting her go back. She was taken to a different hospital overnight. A friend said Elaine, who has _ a history of heavy drinking, was desperate to return. The pal added: "No one really know why she passed out - we think it was caused by the stress and heat." A show spokesman said: "We are waiting to hear what the docs recommend." Elaine will not be replaced if she is unfit to go back. Mirror |

DANNIELLA Westbrook yesterday accused I’m A Celeb producers of “torturing” vulnerable Elaine Lordan by putting her on the show. Elaine collapsed TWICE in the first 24 hours. And Danni — who quit the ITV reality show in tears two years ago — said fellow former EastEnder Elaine should never have been allowed on the “sick” programme. She said: “It is wicked. It is physical and mental torture. I don’t think that they should allow Elaine back in.” Elaine, 39 — who played Albert Square’s Lynne Hobbs — has suffered a string of traumas since leaving the soap after a series of boozy rows. Her son James was born premature last year and had a series of ops for a hernia. And her mum Bernadette died after falling under a train in March. Danni, 32, who played Sam Butcher, said: “Elaine has had huge stress. She hasn’t had time to grieve properly over her mother and now they have put her in the jungle. “They always put someone in there that they think is going to buckle. I found it disturbing to watch. It’s not funny. It’s heartbreaking to see.” Doctors are trying to find out what is wrong with Elaine and she has been moved to a hospital for a second opinion. Her boyfriend Peter Manuel could not fly to Oz to comfort her — as James is still too ill. A show insider said: “Elaine feels fine now and is dying to go back.” But Danni, who crashed out of the show while recovering from cocaine addiction, added: “I’d say to Elaine — go home, be with your family, who love you whether you are on the telly or not. Don’t put yourself through it.” Danni questioned if Elaine had a full medical before taking part. Other troubled stars to struggle on the show include Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Natalie Appleton and Brian Harvey. From The SUN |
