I'M A CELEB FREAKY

Jungle stars say they're SCARED of weirdo David

FORGET the horrifying spiders, the snakes with enough venom to wipe out a small town and the hideous flesh-crawling insects.

Because the only nightmarish jungle creature scaring the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here girls is ... oddball fellow contestant David Gest.

Writer Lauren Booth admitted the mere thought of perma-tanned plastic surgery fanatic Gest, whose has tattooed-on eyebrows and endures regular Botox jabs to banish wrinkles, is giving her sleepless nights.

Lauren said: "He's even scarier than his pal Michael Jackson. I mean, I wish him well but he's got an ironing board face. I'm terrified. I'm really scared to be around someone who's got tattooed eyebrows."

Lauren, half-sister of Cherie Blair, is so worried she is taking some string as her luxury item - in case David's face needs to be held on. She added: "He might melt in the jungle - there'll be bits dropping off."

Comedienne Faith Brown confessed that American Gest, 53-year-old ex-husband of Liza Minelli, reminds her of a vampire. She said: "Does he scare me? No, I wouldn't say that. I'll just take a string of garlic with me."

And ex-Footballers' Wives star Phina Oruche said: "David Gest? All I know about him is facial surgery."

Music producer Gest has bemused the ITV1 show's producers with a series of bizarre queries, prompting fears he does not really understand what he is in for.

First he asked if he could take his personal assistant as a luxury item - then he wanted to know if someone would be available to turn down his bed at night.

Finally, he announced he could only eat off the finest bone china. Executive producer Beth Hart said: "David has told us he hasn't seen the show.

"But we've been completely honest with him about what's involved. We've told him he will genuinely be living in a rain forest, sleeping in a sleeping bag and eating rice and beans.

"He's been told about the bushtucker trials. We've told him quite a few times now but we're not sure it's ever completely sunk in."

The only thing Gest seems worried about is whether he'll be able to keep his dark glasses on in the Australian jungle.

Beth added: "We've had a conversation about his sunglasses and so far he's not been keen to take them off. But we believe he's going to have a lightly-tinted pair rather than his full-on dark shades."

Gest, who grew up best friends with Jacko and his brothers, split from Cabaret star Minelli in 2003 just 16 months after they married.

He accused her of battering him while drunk and unsuccessfully sued her for more than £5million in damages.

The sixth I'm A Celebrity kicks off on Monday night with hosts Ant and Dec.

The ten celebs will again face a series of challenges, with producers promising a few new twists - and bush-tucker trials that are "ten times scarier" than before. Mirror

Jungle babes' den of desire

JUNGLE contestants will find themselves having to cope like the survivors in TV series Lost when I’m A Celebrity kicks off on Monday.

But there is some good news: They are getting their own private lovenest – a luxury treehouse for just two of the stars.

And if one of the jungle babes is put in the private pad with a fella, bosses are hoping things will get really steamy in the jungle.

Back in the main camp, the contestants will be forced to fend for themselves, as well as decide who should lead the group.

Telly chiefs are hoping that will set the sparks flying as egos clash in the Australian Bush.

Executive producer Beth Hart revealed: "We are not going to be like some kind of Big Brother figure and dictate who should be camp leader and who should do which chores.

"We are pretty much leaving them to their own devices to see how they cope and whether anyone comes forward to lead the group.

"There are some strong personalities. It’s going to be interesting to see how they survive."

Yesterday, the Daily Star got a sneak preview of the new camp – based in Murwillambah, New South Wales.

New features include the secret globe-shaped treehouse, which bosses hope will become a lovenest.

And with gorgeous Myleene Klass, 28, pictured, and Phina Oruche, 34, at hand, many of the male celebs will be hoping for a saucy private session.

The lucky pair picked to share the treehouse will also have the luxury of their own ensuite loo. The rest of the celebs will have to make do with a smelly spider-ridden bog.

A waterfall shower has been installed in the camp, but there is a drawback. The celebs won’t be able to hide their blushes, because there are cameras everywhere.

As we revealed yesterday, a second secret camp will be unveiled midway through the series, with two new stars.

TV chiefs hope the new set-up will make the show the most explosive yet.

Producer Beth said: "We just had our trial run and the guys just fell apart. So who knows how our celebrities will cope?" [/url=http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=697]dailystar

Fiona Phillips: GIVE BOOTH THE BOOT

THE worst kind of celebrity is one who's gained notoriety by exploiting connections to someone who's really famous.

I'm talking Lauren Booth, the Prime Minister's sister-in-law, who makes her money bad-mouthing the Blairs. She's off to the jungle for I'm a Celebrity..., a wasted air fare if you ask me.

Having met her I can't imagine why anyone would vote to keep her there - except the Blairs, of course. Mirror

Cherie Blair's sister looks ahead to her time in the Celebrity jungle

------------------ Image

My husband Craig and two daughters Holly and Alex came running to see what all the fuss was about - and then stared at me in astonishment as if I had gone stark, staring bonkers.

In retrospect, I can't say I blame them. I was jumping around the living room of our home in France, punching the air and screaming "Yes! Yes! Yes!" at the top of my voice.

When I finally calmed down, I pointed breathlessly towards the computer and read out an e-mail from the producers of I'm A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here! inviting me to take part.

It was only then that I gave the matter my full consideration, trying to think of all the reasons why I shouldn't take part.

For a start, three weeks in the Australian jungle would be the longest time I had ever spent apart from Holly, three, and Alex, who will be six tomorrow.

I tried to talk myself out of it, I really did. But you have to realise I'm a sucker for dramatic, must-see television. Last year, I even tried - unsuccessfully - to get a walk-on part in my absolute favourite show, White House political thriller The West Wing.

I also love I'm A Celebrity and for me there is little that could be better than actually spending a couple of weeks among the contestants in its jungle encampment.

I thought about it for . . . ooh . . . a few nanoseconds. Then I accepted.

Myleene: Marry me in the jungle

SEXY Myleene Klass has revealed she wants to go one better than Jordan and get married in the jungle camp.

The 28-year-old musician and telly babe is desperate to wed fiancé Graham Quinn.

And she thinks the Aussie outback is the perfect venue to tie the knot.
Catching a few rays on the beach before the start of the reality show, Myleene said: “Jordan and Peter André fell in love in the jungle and got married later.

“But I want to top that. Graham is flying out here towards the end of the show and I’d love to get married before Christmas.
“We were looking at a Christmas wedding anyway and I’d love us to get
married in the jungle.

“The other members of Hear’Say could fly in and be the choir.

“I love Graham so much, I’d marry him in a phone box!”

Myleene said even though there were a few “hotties” in the line-up for the show – which starts on ITV tomorrow – she would be staying faithful to 30-year-old former bodyguard Graham. The couple have been dating for the past five years.

Myleene added: “Graham is my one and only. I am not interested in the others in there.

“I don’t want any wandering hands from the other celebrities.

“The only thing remotely slimy that I want near me is a snake.

“I want to stay as long as I can in the jungle and then I can’t wait to jump into bed with Graham when I’m out.

“I am really gonna miss him. There’s nothing I like more than a lovely kiss and a cuddle.

“He’s got my heart and soul – and not having him next to me is going to be difficult.”

Myleene revealed she nearly didn’t make it into the jungle because of a last-minute surfing accident.

Her attempts at riding the waves on the Gold Coast went horribly wrong.

She said: “I’ve got a lovely gash all the way down my side from trying to surf.

“I’ve been trying to swim in the sea but it’s really rough.”

Shapely Myleene also said she was not happy with the show’s strict rules about the amount of lingerie and bikinis she can take into the outback.

She is only allowed two bikinis and three sets of undies and moaned: “How unfair is that? Can you airlift some in? We can call it Project Underwear.

“I need more – two bikinis just isn’t enough.”

Myleene said that despite her fears of snakes and spiders and heights, she was “up for anything” on the show and would give it her best shot.

She said: “I want to show people the real me. I am not some girl who waltzes around the house in a long frock listening to classical music all day.

“I am up for a challenge. Someone said to me that I’m a compassionate girl with balls of steel and I’d like to prove that.

“I hope I rise to the occasion during the trials.

“I can say that now, sitting in my luxury hotel room, eating chocolate – but I can’t say I would relish eating a kangaroo willy.

“I guess I can always imagine it’s an ex-boyfriend or something, can’t I? It’s mind over matter.” dailystar
