I'M A CELEB: IT'S DAY ONE


JAN Leeming broke down in tears after winning just two dinners for the camp on the first Bushtucker Trial called Mine Shaft Misery.

The newsreader fought off competition from Footballers' Wives star Phina Oruche to be picked by the others.

As she went to Ant and Dec, angry Phina said: "Whatever, enjoy."

But Jan soon regretted it after being lowered into a dark mineshaft by Toby Anstis to find 10 stars in holes filled with creepy creatures.

After praying, Jan plucked the first star from scorpions, and braved the bites of green ants to get a second. She gave up on rats and snakes, then picked a star out of slimy cane toads.

But after just five holes, she yelled: "Toby, please get me out of here."

When she emerged she realised she had dropped a star, so the 10 campers shared just two dinners.You b*****ds," she told Ant and Dec, and said to the camp: "It was horrendous."

Toby, who admits to a boyhood crush on Jan, said: "It was a horrible one." The others said it didn't matter but Jan cried and said: "I think it's delayed shock." Mirror

The public voted for David Gest to do the next trial....IMO, they should have picked Jan then we would have had a show on our hands.

It's only day one in the I'm A Celebrity... jungle, but can we already see a frontrunner taking the lead?

And could it be David Gest?

David, who is currently going through a divorce from Liza Minnelli, is certainly drawing a lot of attention to himself.

Particularly with the ladies...

When it came to shower time, he told a swimsuit-clad Faith Brown she could "breast feed" the group and said Myleene Klass "is just the bomb."

He was equally loose-tongued when it came to discussing plastic surgery and admitted to a nose job, back in 1980.

But his most controversial moment was calling Lauren Booth a "f****** c***".

All of David's chat has certainly aroused the public's interest - he'll be taking on the next Bushtucker trail.

And how well he does in the challange might determine his overall success in the show... Skynews

Scott's chosen for Jungle Boogie

Scott was picked to face the next Bushtucker Trial.

Jungle Boogie it turns out was not Scott's favourite task.....from what I could make out of the coverage we are getting he seemed to say he got one star then on another clip it was five stars. We will have eto wait till we see the show tonight to find out how he done.

I'M A CELEB: HE'S A TRIAL Camp goes hungry after Scott wimps out with ONE star and girls get NONE


SCOTT Henshall gave the worst EVER performance in a Bushtucker Trial last night - and Jan Leeming and Phina Oruche became the first contestants EVER to fail to find the Celebrity Chest.

Gay fashion designer Henshall admitted his performance was "pathetic" after he gained just one star in the Jungle Boogie task.

And the girls marked their lacklustre attempt to win a treat by bursting into tears.

Hosts Ant and Dec were dumbstruck when bitchy Scott shouted "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here" after just one song.

For the challenge, he was supposed to dance as flamboyantly as possible for five songs to gain all 10 stars.

But after donning cycling shorts and plastic trousers, he managed just a single tune before he quit.

As he screamed for the ordeal to be over, Dec said: "You are joking aren't you? They were only crickets and earth worms."

Miffed Scott hit back: "I really couldn't have done any more. I know it might sound pathetic, but tough." By the time he reached camp, however, his mood had become slightly more apologetic.

Tempers started to fray as the hungry group realised they were going to have to split one meal 10 ways.

Scott sighed: "I tried my very best to endure more than I did but I could only get one. I feel mortified I have let you all down."

He blamed his short trial on his hatred of bugs.

He moaned: "There were cockroaches, mealworms and crickets and I made sure I danced for the whole of the first song but that was it.

"One of them went up my a*** - I could feel it going up - and I couldn't do it any more." And he complained: "I was picked on because I was camp and it was a camp trial." After the challenge, he stripped naked and ran into the jungle but was chased back by security.

Jan and Phina fared similarly badly when they were sent to find the Celebrity Chest. They spent five hours searching for three keys in hay bales - but only located two.

As darkness fell they headed back with five-times divorced Jan bursting into tears yet again. She sobbed: "I'm so sorry we didn't come back with anything. We've been through haystacks looking for three sodding keys."

Before they started Phina had already become infuriated by Jan's moaning, telling Scott: "I'm going to knock her block off."

But Jan was nowhere to be found - because she had gone for another whinge in the Bush Telegraph. She told producers: "I don't feel 100 per cent. I feel as though I'm sickening for something. I haven't felt so unwell in years. My bites are killing me.

"That meal last night was the most execrable meal I have ever had - it was absolutely horrifying and hideous. I would rather eat elephant dung."

In a heart-to-heart with Myleene, she also admitted to still being hung up on her fourth husband. Choking back tears, she said: "I'm still in love with somebody. When he left I couldn't bear to hear his name and I threw away 12 years of photographs.

"It's 11 years now and I've tried to move on. I have a good life and friends." Mirror

EX-SOAP star Dean Gaffney was thrown into the jungle last night - and straight into his first bushtucker trial.

Petrified Gaffney was sick three times before finally plucking up the courage to be covered in creepycrawlies, fumble with rats and dive into crocodile-infested waters.

He screamed as he carried out the task - but he won nine meals.

Former EastEnder Gaffney, 28, was sent into the jungle after beating ex-Emmerdale actress Malandra Burrows in a public vote.

He was horrified to discover that he faced a live trial called the "bush spa" to win food for the camp.

He endured "beauty treatments" including a "shampoo" where he had to stick his head in a bowl of cockroaches while grasping for a star.

Then Gaffney had to put his hands into boxes of creepy-crawlies and climb into a crate full of rats. He screamed: "Oh please, oh please, it's rats!" as he was allowed out again.

After winning nine from a possible 11 stars, he growled at hosts Ant and Dec: "I used to love your show on a Saturday!"
